  • Great job overall! A minor change I would make is using the instrumental part of music when Andy speaks. You do this towards the ending and it works, but in the beginning the singing competes with Andy and his V.O. Thanks for creating work that can make a positive difference in the world.
  • I think it is good as well. However, I would take out everything before the helicopter in the beginning. It is a great shot, and I like the music behind it, and makes for a nice dramatic start. I also would end on the silloutted surfer. I just think that is a nicer shot. I also agree with heartstrong on the VO/Music. I'll GL and hope for changes.

On another note, I have uploaded a promo, check it out. I uploaded a shorter version yesterday, and should be up any time now.
  • Great job - GL all the way. I'd suggest uploading a higher rez file so we can see all the wonderful beach footage a little more clearly.
  • SAS truly is a great org deserving of some recognition outside the realm of surf rags---absolutely greenlit for the message.
  • enter your post here Fantastic!! Music made it and the message is an important relevant one. Good job with your talent and in making others aware.

  • Great camera work, great message! I would make the music completely instrumental after the opening shot. GL

  • nice pod! i liked it except for the vo/music issue. You still get my GL! loved the beach footage.

check out my latest (who is joe nice) and a let me know what you think.
  • Paul,

Nicely presented. Your message is clear, you stay on point, you give the viewer something to think about and something to do. Interestingly, it seems to be aimed at young would-be environmentalists. I think the music pushes it in that direction.

If I may make a suggestion, I'd tighten up the editing by having some of the end of each spoken sequence finish as voice-over "under" the surfing footage, and conversely, I'd suggest starting some of the spoken sequences "under" the end of the surfing sequences. It's a minor criticism, though.

  • A wonderful pod with a message of hope. I think you've got a real good shot of this making TV my friend. Excellent production values, good sound, well balanced music bed, and as a filmmaker and cameraman I appreciated the time-lapse sunset at the end. What kind of camera was this shot on? Very clean shots, nothing too cluttered or unsubstantial. Good luck to you. If you get some time, take a look at my pods. Thanks! -zen

  • As an old "goofy foot" , that's right foot forward for you land lubbers, from the long board days, I had heard that the surfers now have become environmentalists. Thank you for sharing this wonderful pod, for instance, I had no idea there were any waves in England! Well done. GL getreel

  • Awesome visuals--that sunset time lapse was gorgeous. We really must get serious about treating our environment more responsibly, especially our oceans. Good for them.

  • Beautiful. As a surfer myself this issue hits close to home. I like the edit and music with this film as well. I wanted to talk to you about bringing your non-commissioned work to a larger audience. E-mail me: darwynm@maniatv.com
  • As an "oldie" whose parents moved to St.Agnes, Cornwall in1962 - just as I was leaving school, the video message is well understood & endorsed. The music is wonderful (I'm a bodhran drummer myself & lifetime folk-music junkie). Who are they?

Hey Paul, nice work. You beat me to it as I think Current needs to have a SAS pod for sure. Spreading the word, so I hope this makes it to the big screen soon. You deserve it.

  • There's so much sewage in the sea you can't actually swim - you can only go through the motions.
