I think this subject is very importaint and you are on the path to a TV worthy pod with a little tightening. A couple of technical observations/suggestions:
1) That hand held mic sounds a little funny. I'm not sure if it is cheapness of the mic, bad audio compression, or if you are overdriving the input but it seems a little "tinny" and your P's are popping like crazy. If you're stuck with the mic you may want to back off of it a little and boost the bass tones in post.
2) The reporter looks good on camera but you should mix close shots with long shots to keep it engaging. Some of the on camera speech also feels a little too slow and there are some pauses in mid sentance that are too long. The result is a kind of mellow tone which makes it feel slow overall. If you can't reshoot it with a more energetic delivery then consider re-recording some of it as voiceover with a little more "urgency" to it. You don't want it to sound hyper but you don't want to put people to sleep either. Punching up the parts where we don't see you on camera might be enough by itself to pick up the pace a little.
3) Need less talking head and more "b-roll" footage of dirty water and ugly sewage facilities. The people interviewed are not too bad but some of the shots of the reporter feel waaay too long.
I'm not trying to knock your effort here. I really like it overall. I just think it could use a little tweaking here and there so it will get more greenlights. -
excellent topic, but the production really needs to be tightened. Primarily, the reporter needs to be more comfortable with the material. I think scripting and rehearsing with great enthusiasm, and passion for the issue, will help. A larger variety of shots under the reporter's voice over would help the pace, and the reporter in various locations, as well. Keep at it, I would like to see this topic addressed on air.

Plisko and industree explained, you have a strong powerful message that definitly belongs on current. The way its executed needs tweaking and the narration needs a lot more work. Sometimes its choppy, and the narrator looses his lines. Tighten it up, make it more professional, and it would make its way to the current's audience.

I second all the comments already here...tighten it up and youve got a GL.

The story's here, definitely, but the other feedbacks have said it all.

Well, I have to like it....
I'd like to see more blame attached to the City of Wilmington, the chief criminal in the situation in Delaware.

Powerful video. Never knew about this CSO issue. Hope to see it on Air soon.
-
Are you kidding me? Is that guy saving the environment or saving jobs? Important piece. Nice work!!
-
Politics man! When will someone stand up for the environment? I just went on google and checked my city out for CSOs. We got 'em too.. I'll be writting the governor about it. We shouldn't have to put up with this. Thanks for the informational spot.

Unbelieveable, awesome topic. Great footage. Nice job.
-
Nice issue man. Hope to see this soon. More people need to be behind this. Great job.
-
Oh my God! Is anyone watching this? And your just standing there? Do Something!!! Awesome topic.

This is a vital issue but now that you've made your "It's Bushes fault comment" your credibility has decreased significantly. Do more homework and get it right next time.

I was impressed by the good quality of this report and the effectiveness it had of raising awareness of the sewage problem in the US. Here in the UK, I was surprised to hear it was such a problem. I knew the Bush administration had a poor record on environmental issues, but had no idea environmental protection acts had been reversed. In the UK, polluters can be fined for pollution from sewage like this. This ensures water companies provide sewage treatment with sufficient capacity, and industries don't discharge nasty chemicals into the rivers. Local government also has some ability to control pollution. Extreme cases are dealt with at magistrates courts, so lawyers can't pervert the problem. I think municipal councils should be able to do something. People of America, I wish you luck dealing with this foul problem.
