SJE, kids making a difference

Students for Justice and Equality (SJE) was formed last year by 12 kids who wanted to make a difference in our world. Since then we have grown to over 76 people, all with one mission, to unlearn intolerance. SJE participated in the National Day of Silence last year, which was our primary and most effective campaign in New Hartford, to raise awareness for Gay, Lesbian, and trans-gender people who are bullied into silence. We have also participated in campaigns to end global hunger, expand women's rights, and we entered numerous environmental campaigns. Students For Justice and Equality is the fore-runner in our school for human rights. We intend to continue to expand and spread the word. We are out to make a difference. So far we have begun to change our school. We hope to spread the message and help other schools nation and worldwide finally unlearn intolerance.

This video turned out great. There should deffinatly be more groups like SJE in other high schools.
As individuals, we can do great things, but i believe that collectively, SJE will create significant change not just in the physical elements, but definitely the perception of tolerence in our community.
    Rock on SJE-ers!! ^_^

The ‘Students for Justice and Equality’ has touched my heart. I was an Australian Exchange Student who attended New Hartford high school last year and was privileged to partake in the early makings of this outstanding club. From the moment I set foot in the first meeting, I knew it would be the beginning to a change in the lives of particularly the youth of this area in America, but not limited to. This club creates a small but intricate and beautiful diversity in the school of New Hartford, where those with ‘free hearts and spirits,’ or those that just want to make a little difference in their local and national area, can discuss and tackle issues that perhaps many of the schools at present seemingly overlook. These subject matters are real and ruthless and therefore so urgently needed to be brought to the attention of many who prefer to overlook or easily judge. And that’s what this club does; they capture your eyes and your ears with remarkable subject matter; whether it be local Utican news, or more of a global concern.
I love this club. I love the people in this club. They are and will always be some of my closest friends. Here’s to tolerance and change! Well done guys! I love you all.

I'm so gald that we made this video, but the one thing that I wish is that more people were viewing it and that more people from outside the club were greenlighting it. I hope that this video gives us the exposure that we need. I also hope that it gets people in New Hartfrod thinking and talking and hopefully SJE will be better for it.

Hey guys, it comes down to this. We made this video to spread the word. If people from the current community arn't greenlighting or viewing, it isn't critical. We are still showing the world that kids do indeed care and want to change this world for the better. If anything know this, we are making a difference just by having people view this video.

So yea, we got Hal Sparks (I love the 80s, Queer as Folk) to view and Greenlight this video before it was pulled for judging. I sent him a message via myspace and I guess he must have liked it becuase he greenlight it!
