Secret Asian 007 is a video about a Korean-American filmmaker who is living a secret life from her traditional Korean family. She describes what it is like to break a major cultural taboo by dating an African American and the struggle to hide her relationship for three years.

It was very affecting to see aspects of your mother --hearing her sing, hearing her on the phone. I appreciate the compassion you show in this piece. It took courage to create this! (My only question regards the contrast of energy between the beginning and end) GL nonetheless!
Please enjoy Crazed: The Belly Dance and let us know what you think!-

Hello I just I want to say I love your video, because it has given me insight to understand why i see a lot of adult asians stare down at me. or seem somewhat fearful of me.nevertheless i really admire your strength in still loving your boyfriend despite your mothers problem. I hope though if i ever fall in love with an asian that I will learn toi deal with the situation.

I was really touched by this. Its the type of stuff I hope gets on the air. I'm african american and I have Korean friends that have told me of their similar experiences... so I feel for you. I like how you showed the scenes of her with fruit while the conversation played in the background... haunting. You brought it all home well with 'because I love them'... therein lies the power to change. GL.

I think that your movie is beautifully done and that you show a lot of courage.

I hope your mother can begin to focus on the effect your boyfriend has on you instead how your relationship will be perceived. I am a black caribbean man married to a beautiful japanese woman. We had a similar situation but when I flew to meet them and spoke with them (with my wife acting as a translator) it opened them up to viewing me as an individual instead of image on the news or in a video. I hope you and your boyfriend can endure. From my point of view IT IS WORTH IT!!

My best friend is hapa, Korean and German, and her mother refuses to acknowledge any of her African-American boyfriends. I understand what her mom is feeling, but honestly, any one of us would be so lucky to find some one who truly loves and respects us for the person that we are so if that person is different it really shouldn't matter.
