  • The content was great, and Mr. Kaufman is a piece of work. I found all the motion and mattes to be a little distracting. However I appreciate that you were probably trying to do something a bit different, a B-film style similar to your subject's body of work. Well-chosen story!

  • How did you get clearance to use all that movie footage? Did Kaufman hook it all up?
  • Hey Dan, original piece, not typical of what you would see on Current. And Mr Kaufman is a modern day Ed Wood. You get a GL just for choosing him as a subject. And if that isn't reason enough, the fantastic review from Mitch Persons convinced me.

Seriously good piece, I like the B style you choose to mirror your subject, I love the last monologue, and the cut to the credits after his last sentence, "Now lets make some art".

  • worldi: Thanks for your comments & support! By the way, the link you supplied didn't work, but I heartily recommend people go and check out your beautiful and unusual Lessons of Darkness. Good luck in your wanderings!

ForgetSilence: Very simply, because it is a small studio, Troma recognizes that the publicity value in getting their work seen by the Current audience justifies agreeing to clearing the clips in perpetuity on all platforms, at least when it's kept in the context of this doc.

    Thanks, everyone!

  • Not my favorite in the world, but that is my personal taste...I think many people would enjoy this, and I like the fact that you are featuring independent art in an artistic manner. GL for art.
  • Nice, GL.
  • He said cornholey. GL.

  • To be believed, appreciated and understood is a universal human need. Perhaps even for the likes of director Kaufman. Or so his words and work want to say. He may never get a less judgmental opportunity when this work expands to completion. Excellent!
  • Very cool. I'm with ya 100%
  • Just to gross to show

  • TROMA ROCKS! cornholing....hahaha. Genius. GL all the way
  • It's all about Lloyd! This is the man who is considered the father of independant cinema. He supports the work of the artist, and regardless of what some may say has a standard of practice that is beyond reproach. If anyone belongs on Current tv, it's Lloyd Kaufman.
  • Cheesy sound effects, cheesy graphics, cheesy music. Clearly deserves the GL.

  • Dan, this is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. The clip at the end with Lloyd is the best! I remeber seeing the Toxic Avenger as a kid and having nightmares about the bike scene. I can't believe people flipped out about the dog! I love Lloyd's observations about the media. GL & tagged. Check out Llyod's book it's well worth it.

  • I grew up on the Toxic Avenger series, and have been a fan of Kaufman's b-movies for years. I can remember being 14 and running home with the Toxic Avenger tape from the local Dollar Video store (pre-Blockbuster days) and me and my friends hiding in his basement watching it while laughin' our fool heads off. Thanks for the memories buddy. Give my stuff a view when you can. Greenlighted! -zen

  • Ive never heard of any of these films before, im going to check em out now... GL
  • Lloyd has some great opinions and wonderfully cheesy movies. Love it! Happy to give this a GL.

Thanx for giving "Talon the Warlord: IT Specialist" a GL!
  • Lloyd was a great guy to work with and it's nice to see him up here in all his glory. I liked the pacing, look and music to this pod. I dig the pop up messages too! Well-done camp. I'd only say to touch up the masking effect. It makes it look a bit amateurish in an otherwise well-made piece. Oh, and maybe add a part from 'killer condom', I love that one. Otherwise, I hope this gets out and helps to put b-movies back on the a-list.
  • Love Lloyd!! And, I think your pod does him justice in under 5 minutes. I agree with other comments that t
