A small town restaurant, only open once a week, manages to find a balance between serving to the tastes of the poor and the rich.

There seems to be a far edgier piece hiding within what's pretending to be a feel-good, human interest story. I think you have to decide which direction you wish to take, then stick with it. Also, the guy with the cigarette is funny, but a little of him goes a lonnnnng way -- use his footage judiciously.

I agree with DanPersons...there is something here, but you've got it in the wrong package. I don't know the point. It seems kind of scrambled.

This was a very interesting piece of work showing that there are fortunately still ways of bringing people together in a society that is rapidly becoming more and more partisan. The unfortunate thing is that such a "protest restaurant" can only exist in the fringes of society as apposed to the mainstream. Also, it's obvious that the other reviewers missed many of the subtletees of the film, they must need to see things literally (i.e. lonnnnng) for them to understand them.

I love the way that you physically frame the people you are interviewing with the camera. And can you tell me how you got the video to appear so clearly on the site?
I tend to agree with the other comments here - if you recut to make it more cohesive, I think the peice would really come alive.-

Something quirky about this I liked. Different from what I usually see on Current. Also u have a good eye, and good editing instincts.

Yeah, I aslo have to say, this is different and i like it too. The path you took in the editing room, can fix a couple of things, but I like the abstract in it. I deffinitely feel you should take the "CUT" take out and start the women with her husband just on her starting to talk. Not on him asking her to start. But I give it a GL.
