A look at the work of artist Patrick Dougherty, who uses found sticks, branches, and trees to construct huge sculptures. The Art of Sticks focuses on his current project at Cornell University.

Spectacular, intriguing work, nicely captured. LIttle bit of an environmental subtext there, too. GL from me.
Shameless Plug: Please check out my latest pod, LLOYD KAUFMAN crosses that line. Thanks!-

I would like to see his work in a sort of Blair Witch horror sort of environment. I imagine he could create some scary looking dwellings. D2thaJ2177@hotmail.com. What other projects are you guys working on?

Interesting. I've never seen work like this before. Reminds me of giant bird nests. GL

I helped bring him to our school with the stdent union during my senior year at Duke (I believe he is even wearing the Nasher T-shirt!) - its truly amazing and a lot of fun to play around in the little tunnels he creates! He also gets all teh students to help out to find the sticks and branches, so its community art...
Well-done and well-covered.

Very interesting artist and a well produced pod! i've never heard of him or his work and how that I have there's a few new thoughts about materials and process in my head that werent there before. who could ask for more. hope it gets aired soon!
-
Is a good profile and the art of this man is very interesting. May be you could better use the interviews from the others guys, mixing with the words of the artist with the opinions. Also (may be is just my bad english) i would apreciate some information about how he could finance all that. GL for the subject.

Fascinating! Extremely well done.

Excellent, I met Patrick years ago at Arrowmont and have always love his work. It is great to see a short documentary. I would like to see a longer one much like the Andy Goldsworthy documentary. I certainly can use this with my srudents. Thanks

This is incredible. I recently did an interview with Joe Pogan who works with similar ideas using founds metal objects. I also recently saw the German sculptor who made the garbage people. All amazing stuff. Sculpture is a beautiful medium.
Please feel free to check out my first video trying to get a leg up with Chicago artists. -
Your work is amazing.
I had to watch this a couple of times,
Love it
