Election-Day worker Carlene Woodward expresses her concerns on voter rights and the future of voting machines.

Good subject and nice attempt for a first pod.
If i were you I would do 2 things.
1. Change or get rid of the music.
2. make the speaker more audible and get rid of the captions.
Shola -
This is a great subject for a pod. I'd like to see more details about what info you have. Can you show any of the machines being used? Or show false results.
GL.

I agree, the music is so loud I can't hear the woman. I would definitely give this a green light if I could hear the woman more. I really love the topic!

Carlene's concerns are my concerns, too.
Thankfully, there seemed to be less mischief in the November 7th elections than I anticipated. Was Carlene speaking before or after the mid-term elections?
If I can make a filmmaking / journalistic comment, I'd direct the filmmaker to a website called Black Box Voting. Beverly Harris has put together a fabulous resource there. One of the links at BBV is a study done by Princeton University that includes video clips of the Diebold AccuVote TS and how easy it can be to manipulate its tallies. Maybe that's the same one she referred to in your clip.
Before I go into the BBV comments, please consider how deeply you want to delve into this issue and who your target audience is. Clearly, lots of detail may put some viewers off. It's a delicate balance. I would suggest digging into the BBV site and pulling out a few good "kickers" to punch up your short film. A poll-worker stating her frustrations "on the record" is strong stuff. To give her greater authority, identify her, with her credentials on screen. How deep you go is up to you.
This is the link to the text of the study link you,re interested, these are the main conclusions of the study:
1. Malicious software running on a single voting machine can steal votes with little if any risk of detection. The malicious software can modify all of the records, audit logs, and counters kept by the voting machine, so that even careful forensic examination of these records will find nothing amiss. We have constructed demonstration software that carries out this vote-stealing attack.
2. Anyone who has physical access to a voting machine, or to a memory card that will later be inserted into a machine, can install said malicious software using a simple method that takes as little as one minute. In practice, poll workers and others often have unsupervised access to the machines.
3. AccuVote-TS machines are susceptible to voting-machine virusescomputer viruses that can spread malicious software automatically and invisibly from machine to machine during normal pre- and postelection activity. We have constructed a demonstration virus that spreads in this way, installing our demonstration vote-stealing program on every machine it infects.
4. While some of these problems can be eliminated by improving Diebolds software, others cannot be remedied without replacing the machines hardware. Changes to election procedures would also be required to ensure security.
The site also lists ongoing investigations and analysis of other electronic voting issues.
Thanks for bring attention to this issue! -
I like this cleaner version, so GL from me.

This is an importaint subject and you have covered it in a nice short and sweet way. GL
I agree that you should look into BBV if you haven't. Bev harris and Black Box Voting are the ones they followed around in the HBO documentary "Hacking The Vote". That is one disturbing movie if you haven't seen it yet. I highly recommend it. -
Effective presentation of an overlooked issue. I definitely believe lots of people need to be aware of it. So, GL from me!
If you get a chance, please give me your feedback on my pod: A Humane Society. Thanks!-

Oh thank you or this, thank you for making it short too. I do love short pods. Did you see the HBO special on this subject? Chilling. Thank goodness for the viral democracy of Current TV, I yearn to see some B Roll of the damned things. GL. Important subject. If you get a chance come support my newest pod, Shadow Boxer link and KEEP PODDING! Getreel

This was a topic that I knew nothing about. Thanks to your video this is no longer the case.
It's embedded on my elections page at:

Thank you so much for bringing this to the foreground! I think it gives us enough info to look further and to be concerned. Short and to the point. GL.

I really like this piece. The interview is interesting and straightforward. GL!

We need transparent elections. These machines are too easy to hack. I don't trust these machines as far as I can throw them.

It's a good video, and does raise some good concerns, even though e-voting is going to be the standard eventually. Blame the 2000 Fiasco for that.

GL This is so important. Such an outrage! That we've known about this for 8 years and still no action. Where is our loyal opposition on this issue?!
