Starting out in stand up comedy is a difficult process and this is a snippet of a documentary that takes a closer look at that process. The documentary follows a diverse group of new stand ups trying to get their 5 minutes of material for a show. It actually focuses on men and women. Comedy has the power to help people understand each other & their struggles.

  • Well done! I love women comics. Good luck!
  • I like this, and there are some really good points. I have always wanted to explore comedy and comedians in relationship to social politics. Like boxing, comedy has always been a place where those who have not been alowed to thrive in other areas, have had some sucess. Comedy allows you to tell the truth, whatever it is, and laugh at it, and it allows for anyone and everyone to do it.

The one thing that did disapoint me about the piece was the interview style. There is good information there, but it's about comedy, there should at least be some camera movment to keep the beat up, and the interviews should have been more comedic in nature, but all in all, an interesting piece.
