  • Excellent Quality video just a boring presentation of a much over discussed topic.
  • I liked this, short, I want to see more about global warming. This is a topic we need to get serious about.

However no one is proposing using 100 percent ethanol. Other than the Indy Racing League their is no manufacturer working actively for that goal. Rather the integration of ethanol as a flexible fuel component is being advocated. As ethanol in relative quantities improves the octane ratio of gasoline as well as being a low emission agent. It is environmentally sound and renewable unlike gasoline. Also this is a benefit to farmers who could then afford to sew more corn. (though sugar beets or grain could be used corn is the most cost effective and plentiful) I think we need to view ethanol as a boon rather than a token of gloom.

  • Great video and a pocket view on hunger, blaming bio-ethanol as the cause. This is a perfect view from someone who has everything in the world and who think from his throne. Finding solutions for people who did not ask him. If only he and his mates could consider the impact bio-ethanol could have on broad based wealth. If you allow the third world to compete with bio-ethanol and bio-diesel and you get the developing world to do it modular where the poor people are, then they will pay for their own food and will not worry about your limited do-gooder view on the issue. A solution for you: stop worrying about food and invest in modular technology in the hungry world. Modular so that you can take technology and sustaining investment to the hungry.
  • There is a simple and extremely cheap method to run our cars and heat our homes - oxyhydrogen (oxigen and hydrogen) flames obtained by passing an electric current through water (electrolysis) - the electricity can be obtained from a battery which is reloaded constantly through a photovoltaic cell. Such a car has already been built (adapted), and it does about 200 miles to a glass of water.
  • I do NOT agrea with cyberrick when he says "boring presentation of a much over discussed topic." I think the topic must be talked about way more! I do think the way we talk about it should be towards providing solutions and not using fear as a primary attention grabber. We should get on this topic in a big way NOW! This little video is a good start and I look forward to more.

  • I guess what this guy is saying is that road vehicles do use a lot of energy, and it is a challenge to substitute oil for biofuels. However biofuel use needs to evolve. Biofuel production is far more efficient if produced from crops such as Swithchgrass, as recommended by the US World Resources Centre, instead of grain. Also, the nomadic lifestyle in some countries means that the land can only support 1/60 the population than settled civilisations. And remember 25 gallons is a lot, it is 112.5 litres, and on an efficient vehicle such as a European hatchback or Hybrid, can achieve a journey of 1000 miles.

  • The overall coverage, information, and education on the global warming issue is always a great thing to do. We all need to better understand what is happening and what we are doing to our planet. I request to please have more coverage on this issue.

    Thank you!

  • To the point. Shocking. Important. Well presented.

Plan B 2.0 is an excellent book. I bought my copy from a man who was selling them after a viewing of the 11th Hour.
  • I think ethanol is dumb. Using corn to fuel a car? What happened to feeding the hungry? We still haven't eradicated world hunger and we're nowhere near it, yet people want to use CORN to fuel a CAR. Is it just me or is that dumb logic?

But great video by the way, this should definitely be a hot issue since it concerns the future.
