  • The Colbert portion feels like a tangent to me -- you could omit it without any damage. The rest, though, is killer -- plainly spoken and powerful. GL!
  • getreel - I agree with DanPersons - the Colbert reference, while interesting, is distracting.

The video compression is lacking - maybe re-compress with less compression?

Last, the audio needs serious work.....which I can help you with.

I'd like to see this video greenlit, too, but it's just a bit below my personal quality threshold right now. If you'd like some assistance with your audio, hit me up via my profile and we'll see if we can work something out.

    Best,
  • thanks, got rid of the Colbert bit, you're right

  • Thanks guys, working on the audio, beyond my steam driven iMovies capabilities but getting help. Dan is so softt spoken even when you're right on top of him. Once again with his interviews, what he says is so important....

  • Sandi: You got it! Tight & powerful. I'm not too bothered by the sound -- just needs to be bumped up, which either you or Current can probably do. For these situations you might want to consider a lavalier mic -- Circuit City has a not-horrible, wired one for about $50, a more pro wired model will set you back about $150. In any case, this screams to get to air!
  • Yeah!

  • Ellsberg is a wonderful man to hear. It would be undignified if I called this a rant. It is a beautiful dialogue about a constitutional crisis.

  • Sandi,

Good to see more of your work, especially with Mr. Ellsburg. Needless to say, he's right on the money. Bush and company are a lying den of thieves and should be put out as soon as possible. But be careful how you cut. Every edit implies some manipulation of what he said. Either portions are left out, or phrases reassembled with the potential for a different meaning than he might have intended. I know you were editing for clarity and concision, but I offer this criticism because those who may want to attack the credibility of your work may use this line of criticism.

    Otherwise, it's great, meaningful stuff.

  • Thanks for your comments J. Daniel's message is pretty much the same no matter how I cut it. They are violating the Constitution, they are liars and can't be trusted, Daniel has known for over 30 years since he hand Xeroxed 7,000 pages and smuggled them out in a briefcase and gave them to the New York Times. I asked him what 7,000 pages looked like and he gestured the length of the wall. I shot this the night he was on Stephen Colbert. As far as I'm concerned, Colbert and Ellsberg are both national heroes. Come see my newest pod Shadow Boxer link

  • I knew there was something missing between us...and I finally found out what it was. That was the GL that I had not yet given to this pod! What a strong and informative message, conveyed in a very diplomatic way. GL, of course!!
By the way, you should go claim your GL from Seamus, as he entered a great comment on the pod you did on him, but his GL didn't register. Go claim it, girl! That pod is bound to go to air. Best of luck, as always!
  • nice work! greenlight from me!

  • Defeating American militaro-industrial-evangelical fascism is the defining issue of our time.
  • ..."one ring to rule them all, and in the darkness, bind them! "
I wonder if George W. took time enough away from the golf course to see the LOTR movies. If so, did he identify the dangers of power misused? I guess he didn't learn about such a thing growing up. Let's see...Rome tried to be the worlds' police...oh that's right...Rome fell. And that Ghengis Khan fellow...wow what an empire...oh I guess the Mongol empire fell too. I know...how about all those powerful Pharoes...well the pyramids are there yet. If we refuse to learn from history, we are condemned to repeat it. (or just watch Lord of the Rings, George W. and I think you will get the analogy!)

  • I find it amusing Neo-Cons are trying to paint a picture of Hillary Clinton leading the US to doom if she were to become President when we practically already there with our current President and Administration.

4 years ago I would have argued that Bush was not the worst president but now with all the evidence available I would be hard press to name a worse one now.
  • Constitutional crisis! Wow! Check out the pod
"Any Dad". When it comes to the treatment of Fathers their is a crisis! I know how my Dad was treated! Thanks for this pod maybe Americans are starting to stand up on another of issues
  • We are in a major crisis, our rights are being taken away. GL from me.

Check out My pod, In God's Image. In Largo Florida a city manage was fired for wanting to transition to his rightful gender. We are all human beings and entitled to our civil rights.

    Always great stuff.

  • GL For content..
  • I'll hold off on voting because it CAN be good for TV. But the way it is, it isn't ready.

    1. Who is this guy? Why should we listen to him? Set up this character more. if we are to listen to 3 minutes of him spouting his opinion, at least identify who he is.

    2. It's visually unappealing. 2 cameras, ok. But what about b-roll. I was visually bored.

    3. Audio was pretty bad. Had a hard time hearing him.

    4. Make more of a story out of it. Because the story changes from something about how the presidency isn't supposed to be all powerful to Iran and going to war with them, to how he dislikes George Bush. In the end, you see that he's just anit-George Bush, which discredits what he says earlier because you know he said all that BECAUSE he doesn't like George.

    5. Add some of that stuff about the 7000 xerox copies. And doesn't 30 years cover republican and democrate presidents? Weren't there other presidents beside George Bush in there?

  • Hi and thanks for your comments, I actually DO know how to make a pod that is voted to #1, The Shadow Boxer, just to save face. Daniel Ellsberg is the bravest man I know, along with Keith Olberman and Stephen Colbert.. All three of these men have such principle of conviction, they each single handedly DID something to speak out against our Consitutional crisis! I was honored to have interviewed Dan, I figured what he had to say outweighed any technical prowess. Daniel, risking imprisonment, hand Xeroxed 7,000 pages of the secret plans to escalate the war in Vietnam, and leaked them to the New York Times, this single event helped to topple the currupt Nixon presidency, oh, that there were more, or even ONE, Daniel Ellsberg today. You can read his book, "The Pentagon Papers", he is a true American hero in my humble estimation. The two interviews, and if you think this is bad quality, wait till you see "The Daniel Ellsberg interviews" i did which was viewer voted to #1 with over 15,000 views, the quality on that one really SUCKS! The great thing about Current TV is, it's what I call, "Viral Democracy" it's like nothing else on the planet and for one, I'm grateful for it, AND there is a place for honest feedback like yours trevorw. I knew this would never get on TV, it was never intended to, it was just so Dan could get his message out, I shot this inteview the night he was on The Colbert Report. Thank you, Sandi
