What happens to a kid's show host when she has to share Mountain Dew.

  • This prob would work better as a 30 sec spot. A lot of ppl may not be watching it long enough to see the joke.

  • Not to sound rude, but this NM state school seems like a scam considering the quality of work that comes out of it. I mean I really really appreciate the effort in the films, but i'm yet to see something good. But that's just me, one person, don't take it personally please, and for this particular spot, try cutting it down to 30 or even 20 seconds. I'll still give you a GL for effort, and also because I just totally bashed your school. Sorry, just being honest and hoping to be constructive.

  • Sorry you feel that way gorbinski. We're a small two year branch college with a new program. I like to give my students purposeful learning and doing these contests are good practice I believe. What is neat about this website for my students is the constructive suggestions we get. People learn by doing. Everyone can't be perfect on their first effort and a lot of these are first time efforts. Thank you for the greenlight.

  • I personally get impatient and bored with v-cams that are over 30 seconds. I'd suggest aiming for a shorter length if you're to do more projects with v-cams.
    Also the composition on this project in particular could definitely improve. There's a lot of dead space around your subjects.
    And what I noticed a lot about the other projects is the lack of sound effects. Sound effects can sometimes serve as the "icing on the cake". Especially in the comedy genre. In this project, for example... when he gets hit with the bat. a "doink" would be cute. But that part just seems dead.
    but what every pod/video project/film boils down to is it's story. I think you can do a lot better with the stories in the vcams. They just seem dull and boring- seems like there's not much creativity behind them. buuutttt that's just my opinion. I'm no professional- just my 2 cents; you can take it or leave it :)

  • Good comments, kiebOi. I think 30 seconds would be a good target. More sound effects, shorter clips and less negative space would be good for a recut. Very helpful.

  • Sry, if I sounded harsh. I just meant that ppl might be mistaking your ad for the kind of show that it's spoofing rather than what it really is if they click away too fast.
