  • Good use of titles & effects, interesting topic very well conveyed. Judging from this and Tatavium Rocks, you really have a way of telling a story. All the pieces are in place -- GL from me.

Shameless Plug: Please check out my latest pod, LLOYD KAUFMAN crosses that line. Thanks!
  • Clever deployment of titles and effects, interesting topic, entertaininly showcased. Between this and Tatavium Rocks, you show you have the knack for telling a story. All the pieces are in place -- GL from me.
  • you really have a gift bro...i'm proud and honored to be your little brother and I love the transitions and fades. GREAT JOB!

  • I gave you a GL because the music is fresh. I did, however, want to know more about the "how" you mention in the description. We see how the music is made in a sense, but I want to hear this guy's voiceover telling us in lay terms how he came up with this, what is his process when he's composing something new, etc.

  • I heard him perform at sfsu,, there are luch time shows and for the first time i spent my entire break and part of class listening to the music produced by Genie's guitar and looping. He was the first solo artist to perform and the most talented. I bought a cd that day and listen to it at least once a week, everyone I play the music for is interested in learning more. He truly represents the creme de la creme that the gifted bay area has to offer. I work at Poleng Lounge on Fulton at Masonic, the possibility of Genie performing there excites me.

  • Wow. I've seen some interesting approaches to guitar, but this is key. As a long-time house DJ, this subject is close to my heart.

Plus, nicely produced, from edit to sound, it's really ready for prime time. Big fat GL here.

  • Great profile! GL. This pod just made Genie a whole bunch of fans in Minneapolis!

Check out The Talk for a laugh.
  • loops are a cool idea...i've seen a few people starting to do this in live shows out here (Boulder, CO). Thanks for sharing an emerging idea.
Things I liked: sharing a semi-unique idea, cool music, great sound, short and to the point
Things I didn't like: lighting was dim for my taste in some parts; are you profiling the player or the technique? if the player, give more time to how he's using scratch guitar in live shows and recordings...if the technique, give more time to the equipment and how it's used (names of looper, mic, etc)
  • Right on... Nice graphics and even better idea. Perfect length too
  • Very cool. Interesting topic I wasn't aware of and I LOVE the 1:52 length, perfect for CTV, funnily, my new pod is the same length! Shadow Boxer link GL Getreel

    nizowe
  • Nice video, he's pretty good, I wouldn't have minded a variation of shots to see a bit more what he was doing but I don't know if you could really have showed much more. I appreciated the length consice enough to get the point.

If you get a chance check out my 11 sec promo

  • Thank you for introducing us to this new sound. It's always nice to see someone innovating, especially out of the Yay Area. I also enjoyed your playfulness with the editing and type.
I'm listening to his music right now on cdbaby and it's phenomenal stuff. Now, I have to find out where he's playing!
Feel free to take a look at my promo, "Leap off the Edge."

YES! I saw Genie proform in SF at the Yerba Buena Center and I loved it. I bought his CD and think he has a great method for music. Great POD. You could expand on it a little, but you are covering a great artists who deserves to be seen. I once worked with Q-Bert on a Indie project about directors and it is local SF talent like these gents that could change the world of sound and art.

    Great!
  • Cool Stuff. As a musician I would have loved to see this POD fleshed out a bit. A bit more on the technology behind what lets him do what he does. Loop pedals etc. I still think its great and it gets my GL.
