The Children Of Don Quichotte

re-size
Something strange happens in the streets of Paris these days, tv and newspapers keep talking about a huge amount of tents sitting on the banks of Saint Martin Canal in the heart of the city.

    pmayrhofer,

So let me get this straight. A consciouness-raising project that helped reframe the plight of the homeless led to the French government committing money to build permanent housing for them, right? Brilliant! But I think there are some steps missing in your video.

Were the tents given to the homeless?Show it. Did the homeless live in the tent colonies? Show it. Did working people leave their apartments and interact with the homeless? Show it more clearly. And what I'm most interested in was how this campaign transitioned from being popular to getting results. What did the campaign ask for and were there negotiations? Did the homeless advocate for themselves? What did they get? Did the government do anything do help re-employ their homeless citizens?

To help other like-minded advocates elsewhere, you need to show these steps visually.

Also, pardon me for saying so, but the repeated use of the same music cue draws attention to itself. It implies, at least to me, a cue for something cute or funny, but you can't over-use it.

Otherwise, brilliant! A noble topic with surprisingly positive results. Merci!

Bold action that leads to a positive outcome. Doesn't happen often enough, but it's gratifying to see it here. jsburman's points about filling in some of the gaps are well-taken, but I'm pretty impressed with the telling as it stands. (You're going to have to omit the Tears of a Clown b.g. track, in any case, since I suspect there's no way clearance can be obtained for that.) Rivetting story, and a GL from me.

I wish Americans could take notice from this bold plan a few brave French citizens had undertaken to address the horrible homeless problem here in the United States. This inspiring story is destined for TV, Greenlighted! Greenlighted! Greenlighted! I wish I could give 100 green lights to this pod. :) When you get a chance please take a look at my latest pod and good luck to you! -zen

GL, aside from the great story, what camera are you using? It's such amazing low light shooting, I shoot a lot in low, available light and sometimes gets milky when I push the gain on my Panasonic DVX100A, tell me what you're using. Also, if you have a chance, come support my Shadow Boxer link Getreel

It's sad that you have to come up with a comprehensive plan to fool the police in order to help the homeless.

    This is really well done.

Great idea, great grass roots movement, great storytelling! GL for sure. As is.

The sad thing is that if someone tried to do this in some parts of America the police would probably show up with tasers and fire extinguisher sized cans of mace. American police not allowed to take actions that might get people hurt? Suuuuure Didn't I see them riding horses over protesting janitors just the other day?

Excellent! Explaining the technique used was especially helpful and should be included in all stories about success in social justice.
