France is one of the only Latin countries that boasts a vibrant Fetish universe / subculture. Fetishism is mainly a Nordic European phenomenon, but France has its own special place in the Fetish universe.

We wanted to take Current TV's U.S. viewers into the world of "Demonia" ... offering a personal and intimate look at this lifestyle. What defines the Fetish/BDSM world? What differentiates the Fetish/BDSM world in France from other countries? Is there often a sharp contrast between a person's activities / experiences in the Fetish/BDSM world and what goes in their daily routine (personal & professional life)? We wanted this to be as real, upfront, and human as possible. We were not looking for the sensational aspect of the event.

This report was filmed on the evening of France's biggest Fetish soiree of the year: "Nuit Demonia" in Paris at the wildly popular 3-story club “La Locomotive” (right next to the world-famous Moulin Rouge).

  • No way this is getting on air without a lot of editing. But good, natural story telling, nailing both the kink and the humanity. GL from me.
  • Agreed. Could use a bit of tightening up, but eye opening story. Nice balance.
  • What was Current TV thinking? Way too much adult content..... Might work somewhere else. Good Luck.

  • Why couldn't this be on TV? Look at Mtv even Vh1 now, this at least is informative/cultural/interesting/actually worthy of being on TV unlike all those cheap, sex exploitive stuff already on regular cable. Current TV is smarter than that and should know to include this segment.

  • This video did something that's not easy to do: It provided some thought provoking reporting on the subject of sex. It got me thinking about the concept of expanding boundaries and opening my mind.

  • Not my thing, but because you did a great job showing this world you get my GL.

I agree with the other comments, some tightening up would help, but I didn't see anything offensive.

I did have a difficult time reading the subtitles though, not sure if it was the compression or the size of the text. It was a little distracting.

I'd like you opinion on my latest pod, small town climate change. Please click on my head and tell me what you think.

    Thanks.
  • Well produced, and it told a good story ... including (albeit subtly) the confusion of some folks who enjoy BDSM, such as the chronic-pain lady, and the other woman who claimed to be in control as she was getting tied up, and then did the big stage wink. Music drives it along well.

  • I like it - reminds me why I love the fact that I'm French! Could use a better soundtrack, non!?

  • Demonia is as much a fetish as a BDSM event (as stated in the description), and a big part of the video was shot in the dungeon of the venue, more precisely in the Bondage area (the 'B' of BDSM).

I therefore don't quite understand why RandyO speaks of confusion in his report.

Is it because there is no added explanation which would help people understand what they are being shown? Or are things very different in the US?

    Just curious...

  • Very cool video. I was there at Nuit Demonia taking photos for the Japanese magazine, SM Sniper, I even saw myself in the background in the dungen taking photos on this video. Good job! My photos from Nuit Demonia are in this month's SM Sniper. Keep up the good work.

  • that was crazy... i had no idea that kind of thing existed in Paris... but could it really get on air with all the kinky shots?

  • You have to love Paris.
  • This was great. I was fascinated to hear the brief explanation of fetishism and it's origins in western Europe & it's timetable (between the sexual revolution of the early 70s and the start of the AIDS epidemic) which is something I'd never heard before.

Legal: You'll have to lose the Rammstein music, you do not have copyright permission to use it at the start of this video. You may as well go get a royalty free track from the APM-Current library and edit that out now and upload a newer version. You'll also probably have to use After Effects to blur out the female frontal nudity for this to have a chance to air on American TV with it's puritanical ratings system.

Professional, well done, and interesting work is presented here with careful attention to detail while showing great respect to the people being portrayed - often pieces like this concentrate on the 'freak show' aspect of these clubs rather than get in depth with the people, so bravo!

This blows the doors off "Joe gets dominated" and gives a real glimpse inside the often misunderstood and mischaracterized world of S&M. Not only is this very current, it's very edgy. So I greenlight. :) -zen

  • great way to present something who could be really voyorism.
this show the things with respect and try to explain a way of life without any jugement.
    great job.

  • Thumbs up. Surprisingly candid footage. A nice compliment to the dominatrix pod I did two years ago, which, due to being a comedy, couldn't go in depth.
  • Very strange video, but that shows up a part of Paris we didn't hear about.
I think wax on breasts is funnier than strange but after all it's important to live our passion like we want to, so let they be s&m !

  • Many times in Paris - I knew... but I never knew.
A slice of another Paris. The city has many parts.

  • this is what making videos for Current TV should represent: openness, learning, peering into what our mainstream media tactfully avoids...and why Current's forum is so special. GL!
  • Bruce you are a WINNER!
  • richar you know youve seen this, dont pretend cause your wife may find out, thats what the whole thing is about, openness :)

  • I love it when the picked pods are actually interesting. I love Paris, the kinky stuff, not so much...Awesome. GL.

  • This pod did something very unusual. It examined something that's usually shown as sensational, but with the tone not being sensational at all. The restraint in the music cues helped a lot!

I also liked the sensibility in this pod. Beauty is secondary. Self-expression is the key.

    Brilliant. Bravo!

  • stimulating, arousing, a great piece for tv.
  • Congrats! Im so glad Current started their 'after dark' pods. Showcasing this kind of footage really helps de-stigmatize sex and releases us viewers from a lot of the taboos we've grown up with. Beyond that the raw business of passion is exquisite to peak at.

Much props, feel free to check out my first launch, We Create!
