BIG MEDIA fails again...

In the midst of what should have been a major controversy, BIG MEDIA chose to keep us distracted and uninformed. As if to prove their belief that we are sheep, mindlessly waiting for our next feed, they continue to distract rather than report.

They will only stop if WE stop buying the mental Novocain they continue to supply.

BIG MEDIA continues to fail us.

  • KDrew,

Hey. They're not boats. They're ships. I love the Bush clip at the end.

But I don't know how to critique this. I can approach it as stand-up, or I can approach it as an OpEd piece. If it's stand-up, it should be more absurd, more ridiculous, more offensive. If it's a verbal OpEd piece, there should be stronger research backing up your premise.

As it stands, it's just your say-so. How do I know who else uses this particular type of fighter jet? Does Israel use it? Pakistan? I have no idea. I think that's where it falls down.

But, hell, I gave it a GL anyway. I like your sense of outrage, and I love that camera mounted on you, where ever you actually mounted it! I love the real-time clock in the BG, too!

  • Definately not your regular take on the issue. This is why there is alternative media. Good luck getting to t.v.

  • It's interesting how upsideDown and sdrawkcab our media is. Thankfully we have current and current has you!

I've been so caught up and emotional about Anna Nicoles death that I haven't heard about this arms deal...wait, that's what they wanted. Damnit! They fooled me again! /end sarcasm

GL from me, lets hope it makes it to tv before it's too late.

  • Thanks for the votes everyone. I'm relatively certain this isn't going to get on the air, but I appreciate the encouragement from the community.
  • THANK YOU FOR CHALLENGING THE "DECIDER."

  • Corruption is Rampant! Consequently, in my opinion, our country is slowly but surely becoming "a nation of near retards," a collective group of individuals who have become so absurdly self-absorbed and disinterested in acquiring knowledge that we, as a nation, are slowly but surely losing touch with the reality of what is actually going on in the world! The best example is our population's general sense of ignorance in relation to world history, and especially that of our inability (or perhaps even unwillingness) to understand our own country's complicity in relation to the federal reserve and the 9/11 attacks upon our nation. Of course you aren't all to blame, the fact is that after World War One these issues were rarely mentioned in newspapers or history books. Why? By WWI, The money changers, with their dominant wealth, had seized control of most of the nation's press and media.
  • Hey kdrew, I like your work & your attitude. Keep it up & good luck. Also thanks for the GL & comment on my Homeless Superbowl pod, I'm new but have more to come. Thanks, Saturn

  • i say thank you for making this pod. obviously this is a big deal, yet somehow it slips under the radar silently. yup, we are thought to be that naive, and bush is repeatedly trippin on his powerplays. 'fire sale' skit is clever. kendallfresh says GL. check out 'the big brother show.'

  • 5 or 6 Corporations own all the major media. Bring back the anti trust laws that protected us from this assault on a proper democratic process. GL
  • wow! thanks for the info!! grrrr!
  • This sliped under the radar but not under the Basement, Super GL
  • You did it again. I love your stuff. This needs to be upfront...I study this sort of stuff and contribute to it often...I can't believe this clip hasn't received more play....Go To It DREW! We Need You! Since we won't see "real news" on "REAL TV"

BTW - I have a better video of DoomsDay Cancled up now...if you care to view it again. Didn't know how to write to you personal, as I wasn't trying to get a "free plug".

  • Good material, but delivery could be better. 95% of the visuals is this guy ranting. And he sort of beats a dead horse. Could have been about 2 or 2 1/2 minutes long. Funny bit about the fire sale.
    trevorw
  • Yeah, this is me going off, I know. That was kind of the point. I amactually a little surprised that this is staying around in the 30's for so long.

Thanks everyone for the support. It is important.
  • You make some excellent points and your delivery is pretty good. The few accompanying images you use are effective, I just wanted to see more of them. You do some creative things with the camera, but the basement setting kinda kills the level of production value.
  • I like the idea of teh op-ed shot in the basement, but I see what you're saying, it does take the edge off.

I'm not sure if that's what I meant to happen or not. My garage is better, but cold in the winter.
  • okay mate I'm new here, and I want us to be friends, so I'm going to be honest... I haven't posted anything up yet so, but give me time, I will show stuff...

I like the approach, but you gotta shoot your stuff right and treat it.

the treatment really works the idea/concept around in your head since you write it down... you gotta treat it like a television production...

I hope Jon Stewart picks it up... you could be onto something... the style works for what it does, but you have to get something a bit more prosumer and move away from DV... let the gloss of HD shine through, it just looks crisper...

The delivery is a bit quick (even as the style suggests) but sometimes quick, can be too quick, and the effect is lessened...

    love the cut-aways...

You ask the hard questions though...
    aldric
  • hey there Aldric.

Thanks for the comments. Yes, someday my HDcam will come. But for now. I'm trapped in dv world.

I appreciate you saying that what I've done is anywhere in the same vacinity as Jon Stewart, but please keep that to a minimum, my ego might get too big.

Thanks again for the comments. I agree, with most everything you said. This particular piece was very off the cuff and unplanned. As is the nature of tha "rant" Glad you liked the concept.

    Later,
  • This is the kind of stuff I would like to see more off. I love it. Looking forward to more.
    stonyp
  • I find the music a bit distracting and some of the camera work a bit unorganized, but I could really care less about that since everything being said is a verbatim thought process so many of us go through on a daily basis, and when I say us I mean Current folk. A bit more images or stock footage from referenced events might also help.

However the Howard Beale approach fits you well, I think you should end with "Im mad as hell"

I vote yes, good luck and feel free to check out my first vid launch, We Create.

  • I have noticed these things. Also Halliburton has moved to Dubai. This means that the whole thing over has been staged to get Big Oil in the picture and Iran is in the mix and knows everything. We the American Public have just been taken for a ride the likes of which only a politician can think up.

Only in America is a saying that should bring embarrassing moments to all of us.

  • The truth hurts but I`d watch you do the nightly news.
  • GL. Thank you for the clarity. Smartly done. We shall never forget . . . . . . . . He is the decider.
  • lol! GL from me, I like the light hearted humour, I also liked some of the shots. Did you tie the camera to your leg in one of those shots? (the one with the camera looking up from below, but still moving with your movements) or was it someone on the floor? either way it was a pretty neat shot

  • The information is so intriguing that I don't think the music is necessary. It's time for media to stop trying to entertain and to start informing, thank you for doing the job they are supposed to do. GL
  • Keep the noise on!
No complaints on music or shots. GL

Mine is different stuff but related to politics, come and see it.
  • big surprise, huh. We ned media reform in America
