Babydoll

I really love the look of this film. The black and white "old" looking footage works very well with this subject and with the constant VO. But I do feel that it is missing some music of some sort. Seems to me that it would help drive the piece. GL and goodluck!

I agree, the black and white really creates a feeling... but the cuts between the voice overs could really be helped with some background sounds (maybe some subtle sounds you'd really hear in the ring). The starkness is working, but I want to be immersed more in the story, and sound design would really help.

Did you shoot this on film? At points, I'm convinced, at other points, it looks like it's a little overprocessed. Nevertheless, good story, good presentation, & a GL from me.

Nice work, also loved the use of film gives it such a different look, great for the subject matter. I didn't see it before the music but the music was great nice work using it when it needed it. Nice progression from training, to the personal side to acutally get to see her fight, and she whoops it. Goes great with the narrative. This defenatly deserves to go on TV.

Love the slick classic look of the Super 8 film, you brought me back almost 30 years with the timeless look of this. it could be from 1977 just as easily as it could be from 2007. I am impressed. A well deserved pick for TV about a fantastic athlete who has impressed me over the years with her boxing abilities on ESPN-2 and other channels. Is she still the WIBA featherweight champion?

Hey medaglia, just wanted to congratulate you on the piece. I like the aproach. By only having a VO gave a different look and feel to the film. In some ways it feels like an experimental documentary. I am not sure if this is what you were going for but it certainly works well. Congrats. Hope you like my piece too. Cheers.
