I've only just registered; yours is the 2nd video I've seen. I don't really know my way around or even what to expect, but your video certainly makes me want to stay.

I am a later-in-life father of two young sons, 2 1/2 years and 2 1/2 weeks. For the first, I prayed for a healthy child and was blessed with one. For the second, for whom we had concerns, I prayed for the strength - and extra years, if necessary - to love completely, to his or her independence, whatever child we were given. We were blessed with another healthy son.

I found your video to be touching and personally relevant. Thank you. I am pleased to make it my first GL.

Welcome to current. I too am fairly new here. You will find a ton of great videos here, much better than mine. You bring tears to my eyes with your comment. My daughter was born prematurely, and the NICU experience was difficult. I'm glad my video can touch people who identify with a child birth that's not all happiness. My heart goes out to the stong and courageous parents that care for challenged children, even though they feel they are only doing what any parent would do. I salute them.

I really love the unique visual approach, really beautiful. Very thought provoking.

It's got a nice feel. It could use more shots of relationships/people. But it's nice and simple with
a little surprise. The still shots are used well with the VO.

I guess my answer would be that it's only natural to ask for that. But that's not really the point, is it?

Thank you for the feedback on my piece. Your piece displays a knowledge of cinema, however perhaps you should have used a different color font other than white. The text was lost once in a while in the snow scenes.

Nice reflection piece. Its a good point to make. Congrates on a healthy girl. I guess healthy could mean a lot of things, what one person might think is unhealthy could really be the opposite, you could say that child has been givin a gift that others don't have, Some babies with "disiabliities" look through the world with different eyes and can find true happiness where others can't

I agree with folks that the font/color could have been better chosen. There were a few shots that I felt lingered too long... maybe more variety in the visuals is needed? That's nitpicky though. I also don't like the music, but I'm a picky jerk when it comes to music, so you don't have to listen to me on that one :)

Actually I think you got it right Nigel. The font isn't that important, it only echos what is being narrated. And the images are simplistic but that's all you need cause your message is strong. Plus it's beautiful, and the music is perfect. There is no one song that everyone will like. GL.

I think the font color is perfect, I am sure you wanted to rewind or review the video tonyvega, that's great production. swivel master, you're not an artist are you? YOU have to interpret the piece, the piece does not have to s p e l l i t o u t for you.

vgr81, I think that was un-called for. I didn't in any way imply that I didn't understand the piece or think the point was not well-made. The font color is a readability issue, not an artistic one. As for whether I am an artist or not, I'm not sure how that even relates to my not wanting to see white text on a bright background!

The innocent child can only challenge our own shortcomings. Thank you!

I see your point about saying "I want a healthy child." However, I think saying "healthy" means that the child won't have life threatening illnesses, not disabilities. There are many disabled people who are healthy. I don't think it's selfish to say healthy, I think it's selfless. You do not want your baby to be in pain, or suffering from disease.

I appreciate your point about the diffference between unhealthy and disabled. My point is only that we often pray for the wrong things, like wealth, success and resolutions to problems. And we aught to pray more for strength to cope with our challenges, and be cognizant of others who are suffering more than ourselves. It is also a prayer of gratitude and an acknowlegement that I did nothing to deserve this blessing. I am glad the pod is thought provoking though, and that you gave it some thought, (if only for this reason i hoped you might give me that GL) . I really apreciate your kind words though, they go further than a GL ever could. God bless.

thanks for this. gl. i thought it was a beautiful window into your thoughts, with a lot of personality. my only comment would be to change the font and placement of the letters. superficial as that seems I think that having more quirky, differing fonts, appearing at different parts of the screen would better reflect the inner process of thinking. just a thought.
