Simon - that's a pretty funny, and slightly worrisome op-ed! I am all for smoking bans - I think it's a nasty habit and the ban in San Francisco was definitely the only way I was able to bartend for 6 years (check out the link to info on secondhand smoke from the National Cancer Institute - cheery stuff. But...I do love a good book, and I would hate to see creativity drop to new lows as smoking bans spread...
