Waste - recycle picking

The funny part is that you recycle a can, and you get another slip of paper to throw away on the street.

The message you are trying to protray is done alot. You'll need to find a very very creative (in a big way) to get people to listen to your message, because its just drilled into our heads as schoolchildren that we often forget what we are doing.

The slip of paper you get is a voucher to spend in the shop rather than throw away. Some of the machines dispense cash instead which seems a better idea. In Finland (where the machine outside the supermarket was) you pay a deposit on all bottles & cans you buy & it provides an incentive to return empty containers rather than chuck them on the streets. That system just seems to work better than what happens here where there is no incentive.

Anyway - thanks for your comments. I will have a think about whether I can make a more creative way of conveying the message.
