  • Brilliant pod.

I actually used to live in Saudi Arabia, in Riyadh to be exact.
The government there also implements Sharia law upon its Muslim citizens.

I also think that a good topic for your next pod could be to talk about how Westerners are affected by living in a Sharia-controlled area or country.
  • very interesting and relevant subject, I wish more filmmakers would make similar films

  • Wow, what a great piece. I have friends in afghanastan as we speak. I hear there are still pockets of taliban activity right now. So it's a reel shame to see this spread.
  • Great to see an area like Ache covered. However I'm not sure that Sharia automatically equates with the Taliban as there are many implimentation of Sharia, which basically means adhering to the five pillars of Islam.

Liked the style of presenting though.
  • I do hope that the human rights activists who live in the region are able to do something about this. Having the Western countries trying to do something about it, like dropping bombs on them and killing millionsof people, will not change things.

I wonder why Mara Schiavocampo left out that it was the Untied States that recruited and trained Muslim extremists to fight its proxy war in Afghanistan against the Russians? The Russians were defeated and this facilitated the collapse of the Soviet Union. This made the United States the number one power in the world. IN the meanwhile, millions had died in Afghanistan and the coutnry was left in ruins.

Isn't strange how when the Untied States began its war on terror, more terrorist acts are occuring?
  • Wow, I've watched all your pods and am impressed at how informative they are. Thank you.
