I am 100% with you on the topic ! This video just needs to be tightend up and give us more specifics on some of the stuff you talk about towards the end...(visuals). You started with some great examples in the first half but when the little solar oven didn't work that was a let down. just re-shoot on a day that is sunny and show us what it does. Maybe tells us a bit more about LED tech. Dig up a bit more factoids. In general I really like your casual delivery and messege that we should all be doing something. I look forward to greenlighting this one in the future. If you post a re-edit be sure to let me know!

I will ecco EXACTLY what twodee said, and also add, at a couple of occassions the audio seemed to go off?!! either that or there were two really quiet bits of the film which was distracting as it made me think about the film maker rather than the message you are delivering. Keep at it, and I too would greenlight a tighter version of this

OK. Greenlight for this topic. And you have imporoved it a great deal. I love the groovin tabla music to the lawn mower section! I would take out the bit about radiant floor heat. While radient flooring is wonderful to feel and live with, it is only about 40% efficient. It takes a great deal of energy to get the floor up to speed so it is doing the job it needs to do. Solar collected hot water with an on demand hot water heater thru radient baseboard is a better sollution. This way, the on demand heater will only kick in when the solar tank has used its heat. Best thing.... you are asking people to think about all of the options. And there are MANY! And we need to shift our creative minds away from video games and virtual life to engaging with each other and the planet we live on.

The world needs more people who think like you do. Great ideas. Good work!

I really think that with a little more stylized editing this thing would move a little more... Quicker cuts even while you are talking... wide to tight... Overall I think it is a good piece it just needs to move a little quicker... I don't mean it needs to be shorter... but it needs to feel like it isn't so long...

"Bologna" -- quick, funny moment. Very passionate and informative. The editing is sometimes jarring, but it's not too distracting. Nice work.

Very useful information, delivered in a likable way. If you can get a little more aggressive on the editing it will flow better.

Hi,

I haven't read all the other comments - sorry, but I'd say...

Split it into episodes - take one or two items per Pod and go into each subject in more detail. Do one (say) on the light bulbs for example. Show examples, quote stats, show costs, tell us what it means to US!

Secondly, improve your lighting. Learn a bit about lighting for TV. Even your outide shots could do with white-balancing and a reflector or two! :-)

Good content and the basis for a series. Not quite a GL yet from me - though close..

PS. Oh yes - just litle thing, but either put audio cross fades on your sound track between shots when you have "Sound" and "Silent" shots in the same location - or better still patch the audio track with "room tone" over the "silent" shots. Makes all the difference for a professional result.

the white balance was set by me, I wanted it to be a little blue. as for the lighting yes I do need better lights...and reflectors.

as for episode...that is my desire and I am working on research for a new one now, on the food we eat and what is in it....that should be uploaded in a week or so.

also I am working on a doc...called > Art of War...that will be ready in 2-3 weeks.

Pretty good camera shots and framing. You could however, use a course on location lighting or basic video cam (which covers lighting basics).
I took both at the Intternational Film & Video workshops in Rockport, Maine. It was well worth the money. And I wouldn't be telling you this if I didn't think you were well worth the investment! GL!

Interesting ! Have you thought of cutting it down into stand alone sections. Name it Ronald Green tip of the day. It'll short and effective, use a generic sting at the beginning and the end of each section.

Ron, I don't read any other people's comments before viewing pods, in order to keep my own opinion uninfluenced - so, if this comment contains something already mentioned - that's OK. Your pod is very earnest. I like the way you composed it as an eye-to-eye conversation. Some of the ideas and topics offered in the pod are not the freshest (which doesn't diminish their value at all!) and some of those are "supernovas" - invited by you. Great! And your way to bring those up deserves highest marks. GL from me for all.
PLEASE fix the audio level inconstancy.

It's a very good pod it terms of message and being green, but it needs some work on editing and making the picture better. Great idea though!

I really like the content...but it's a bit to long for me, and it just doesn't have enough going on to keep the interest up. I think the addition of some music and cut-aways would help.

There is a lot of good information here. My suggestion would be to break it down into smaller segments (pods), where you would talk in more detail about each of the solutions you have proposed. I believe that would allow you to make the entire production more cohesive, the pace a little faster, and therefore engage more viewers into your great ideas. GL for the effort and for the educational content.
