2. To determine the extent of global coral bleaching, Professor Justin Marshall and a research team at the University of Queensland set up CoralWatch. Using a color chart, Marshall developed a way to easily and without the use of equipment, gauge a reefs health based solely on its color. CoralWatch is an internet-based site that links up schools and other organizations such as dive clubs and monitoring groups around the world to track the health of coral reefs while raising awareness of the values of and threats to coral reefs. The goal is to discover trends while engaging high school students, dive groups and other non-scientists worldwide to collect useful scientific data.

Needs a softer V.O., or less newsday. Love learning something new and this was well done. GL.

Important subject and great content. I would suggest different music -- it was a bit too depressing at times.
When you get a chance, check out my newest pod, "We have issues..."-

Great pod!!..important story, needs to be heard.
what"s missing for me is.........................................................
You can loose the intro narrative and start with the professional (interviewee) then cut to reef footage mid description .... at the risk of sounding a bit rude, but for the sake of good, honest feedback...the primary voice over sounds more like educational video voice over than appropriate for the (devastating) subject matter ..too matter of fact and indifferent....maybe it just seems that way in contrast to the expert witnesses who seem so impassioned about the issue. either way, i think you could have a more powerful overall impact if you give that voice over narration just one more shot... Think ....Anderson Cooper...he covers this stuff well....
Looking forward to your next pod... -

GL Anyway. But I have to agree re the VO. It needs the delivery of one of the guests i.e. less robotic and dispassionate. (Sorry Jeff :))
Check out Sister Beatrice Explores. She leans to the passionate side when it comes to art.-

Nice pod! Good length. And everything else about it was nearly perfect. The only thing that really bothered me was the sign off at the end, "Jeffery Novich reporting." It left a bad taste in my mouth. Haha. Nice work!! Check out this pod if you get a chance.

Nice job very well done.
Check out my pod on a photo montage artist and tell me what you think -
Nice story. Well done.

I thought your introduction could have been strengthened by simply having the narrator voice the statistics that you put in print. Ove's statement at the beginning would be smoother that way.
Great pod though, and a very important subject, Thanks.-

This pod is great because it addresses an issue that not many people know about. I think everyone should learn about this. So I give it a Green Light.

I didn't even know coral did that when it was dying. Thanks for the enlightening pod. Great choices for underwater footage. Did you use archives or shoot them yourself?

I like the color chart to determine the health of the corals. Everybody can help to save the reefs without being a scientist. GL
