Great job. I really liked your use of voiceover, your voice adds a lot to the piece. Good choice of a subject. He was interesting enough where I didn't get bored with the pod, even though you just stayed in that same store for the whole time. GL.

Check out my piece on the Guardian Angels, and let me know what you think.

I really like what you are going for here and I have a couple of suggestions:

    1) Check your audio mix. There was at least one moment when music was playing that was fighting with something being said on camera.

    2) Tighten up the edit a bit. The guy walked off camera and it lingered there looking for something to shoot for a good 3 or 4 seconds. It's mostly there. Just a couple of soft spots.

    3) There's a big Irony missing here. Denim was created as a strong cheap work cloth like canvass. Levi started out making tents with it and then later made work clothes for miners. Strouss came up with the idea of putting rivits on the weak points so they wouldn't tear under stress.

There is a great irony that could be created here between the guy in a denim shop talking about the finest woven denim and justifying $250 jeans as a lifestyle choice. . and the history of this material that was created to serve the hard working classes as a tough, cheap, utility fabric.

Look me up if you upload a new version.

Thanks Plisko for your comments. With regards to #1, yes I agree the audio could've been tweaked, there was music playing in the background through the stores stereo. #2 was an edit I did on purpose. I wanted to emphasize Dave's giddy'ness when he was talking about jeans..he just stepped off to go fetch that roll of denim, so rather than hide it with a clever edit, i opted to leave it in like that. And as for you rpoint on #3, yes I agree, irony would've have been a good element, however I choose not to make it into a documentary, but rather a unqiue topic on an every day fabric. To call out the irony of denim I felt would've been cookie cutter. Thanks for your comments!

    GL!!!

This make me realize that people is also diying of hunger around the world. How really important is a 650 USD denim jean?
