On the 27th March 2007, during a church service to celebrate the 200 yr anniversary of the Abolition of the 'slave trade', an African stood up to defend the memory of his Ancestors. I went to meet him.

Excellent. Important to have this heard. Let's get it on air!

Right on, brotha. Why should we, the victims ask for forgiveness? I can understand your outrage. I praise your bravery. Thankyou for being so strong.

Wow, great interview. GL. When did this happen?
By the way, check out my Sony HD Life V-CAM. link I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say about it. It's just a bunch of foolishness really, so be prepared.
-
There isn't enough vociferation on TV in regards to current events, politics, society, and so forth. This man's voice is a voice that needs to be heard, whether or one may agree or disagree: it's about getting viewers to think. Isn't that, ultimately, what Television should be all about?

Sholao,
Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it. I understand where youre coming from on needing more Sony equipment. You're not the only one saying that, but the ad brief simply asked us to, "Make an ad that shows the audience how life is better in High Definition." We were trying to create something that hooked the audience on an emotional level, and made them remember, "that funny Sony ad about high def." link Again I really appreciate you taking the time to check it out and write your thoughts. Also congratulations on getting the staff pick for airtime.
Cheers,
Wes -
Great subject, too much background noise. It's distracting from the subject at hand.
-
Normally I don't like to see someone talking on camera for too long. I am a big fan of B-roll and cutaways to keep the interest up.
This guys story was so powerful, however, that I gladly lend my mysteriously degraded GL. -
nicely done. I, too, am a big fan of b-roll and cutaways, but like Plisko, your interview kept my attention the entire time. It's a strong subject and passion shows.
if you get a chance I'd love for you to look at my pod: "a midwest oasis" -
The speaker stepped outside of the polite boundaries and had the audience face what was still unsaid and unresolved from his point of view. He asked them to consider the issue as he saw it in that moment. He let them know what about the history was missing for him and affecting him today. He found in doing so that his feelings were shared by some where he stood, and many more around the world. Courage, Determination, Voice, and now Community.
Great video. GL-

Thanks for sharing this interview with us. More people need to be exposed to this "HISstory." It would've been nice to see more footage from the actual event.
-
What a great speaker and campaigner, cutting to the quick of the hypocrisy. Dignity without victimhood. But how about more from the event itself? An interesting counterpoint would be some mainstream coverage (can imagine the solemn but would-be noble expressions worn by representatives of church and state, etc...) in contrast to the snaps of your man (name?) being escorted from the premises. Thanks for all your films!

Thanks for your comments and GLs. I'm sorry for the lack of B roll, but the event took place at westminster abbey, and the only camera's allowed in where those of the BBC and a few selected press photographers, so I couldn't get any additional footage as a CJ.
The place I interviewed him was a resturant and a bit restrictive so I couldn't vary the setups much there either.
Thanks for your support anyway. -
Very interesting interview - gets to the crux of the issues which are often impotant to the people but sidelined by the mainstream.

HEres another thanks to his pile of thanks!

Very important story, in my view this story only seems to drag on because the people who benifited from the enslavement just do not seem to understand that it is wrong to profit from the enslavement of your fellow man.
-
Audio was bad too low at times and off channels at other's. Please re-do and try again.

I compliment you for arranging this important interview. This pod is definitely an eye opener, and I believe this voice deserves to be shared with a large audience. Thanks for bringing it here. Good production. GL from me.
When you have a moment, I would appreciate your critique on the message behind my pod . Let me know what you think about this reverse perspective on the world. Thanks!

Slick, Sholao. I like the topic... Change comes from motion, not from notion. Like the visual and solid editing. Dopalicious! Since your artistic senses are keen, peep this new graffiti art pod. It could use your advice and approval. The democratic process... yum.

This was a great interview. I love that this man stood up against the lies. History is written by the winners right??? It will take time, but eventually the truth will be accepted.
Its already out there.
GL for sure.
Please take a moment to check out my latest POD, BIG MEDIA fails again and feel free to give it a GL if you like it.
Thanks.
