    • I thought the fluctuations in the sound were distracting at first, but then I got so into the story that I didn't care. The words could maybe stay on screen a little longer, but they might be fine on a big TV.

Bikes rock, thanks for this POD.

    • Nicely done! the cards could be jazzed up a little, Simply, easily: like keeping the music going or putting a different track under the cards. Or put a slight move on the text.....I'm sure somebody else has an even more creative idea. Solid sound, great subject, good interviews!

    • Well done. It's a great and very relevant story of a bike shop that's providing a much needed service in NYC, where bikes for some people are their livelihood and only means of transportation.

Nicely edited, good b-roll, excellent music choices, too.

    • Good subject but piece is too long for int info it gives. Got to know what to cut and what to keep. Camera is too shaky. Text doesn't stay on the screen long enough for me to read it. Font face is too small. Audio is out of sync with lips.

I'm surprised to see it ranked so high.

    • It makes sense to recycle and reduce the amount of garbage that lies around. And bicycles are a prime candidate for this. If you are not using your old bike, why not donate to such organizations so they can tune them and make them usable by others that are less fortunate. Cheers!

    • Interesting subject matter and I really liked the mix of action and interviews. I loved the close-ups of the "down and dirty" bikes and how they were resurrected.

Watch out for overdriving the music track to avoid distortion especially when it contains a heavy bass.

    • There is a group in Los Angeles called the bicycle kitchen where they recycle bikes and teach kids how to repair them.

Is some of that music from Fishbone's song Freddies Dead?

    • It is a waste to see so many bicycles damaged. In India, the bicycle is such a valuable item. Please help more people here to see the value of restoring these machines. Thank you.

    • I like the story...nice eco, currentastic, preaching to the choir piece.

I think you have two separate stories in there. the first is the bi-recycle shop...which needs some work on the sound and picture ( too dark in the shop)..nothing a little filtering/processing shouldn't be able to fix.

Once the musical montage starts (nice soundtrack btw) you start a whole different story / conversation....on the same general topic.

you could have the second part as an entirely new pod....or better yet, shave it all down, trim the fat, and splice the bike shop across footage of the larger story of biking in nyc.

I will save my greenlight for the next version of this you upload....which is highly unusual for me....i am pretty quick to redlight pods.....I'm very discriminating about what I think belongs on tv

....most of the pods I have "greenlit" are actually because I tried to smash the redlight button too hard, and slipped mouse over to the GL side on accident...i am more careful now....

      ...keep up the good work.

    • Great subject to do a podcast on. I think it was well put together. Some of the audio was cut a bit rough but, I think visually the cuts were done very well. You get your point across. Which was the purpose of it right? Good work. Peace.

    • big cities and bikes is a great topic. New bikes get ripped off and fixed up bikes have personality. More bike lanes + drivers need to learn about the "bubble" - they come too close because they don't know.

    • I LOVE bicycles. Mine is my primary form of transportation and I have what I refer to as a PeeWee Herman complex. Kudos for promoting the lifestyle, but at the risk of SHAMELESS promotion, I would be so ver happy if the exact LOCATIONS of these shops were disclosed. Other than that, I'm all smiles.

Finished taking out the trash yet? Great stop by and check out Susan Cagle a young lady who performs in the subways of NYC and has the spotlight being set on her! Thanks in advance for your comments.

    • Good idea! A friend of my in Japan however got in trouble for doing his own bit of recycling. He found a bike in a junk heap, exchanged the bent front whell, and went on his way - right into a nest of cops.

They yanked him into their office and got in touch with the old owner who lost the bike to a thief 3 years earlier. The owner refuse to let my friend keep it so they had to thrown it back on the junk pile! Madness!

    • Really god job on this. For some strange reason I feel like I have seen a pod on this place before. Nevertheless, you did a great job with it. My only complaint is that you extend your graphics in length. I am a pretty fast reader, but I couldn't keep up with those paragraphs that were only up for a few seconds. And the audio transitions seemed a little off. Other then these two things, pretty strong piece.

By the way, thanks for the email!

    • This is a great idea BUT 1/ lose the written bits - why not voice it over footage? 2/ tighten up your camera work - superglue the zoom so you never use it again 3/ use a tripod or a steadicam AND I was waiting for the bike shop guy to show us a bunch of stuff he'd found on the street (the "before shot") and the bike he made from it (the "after" shot. Then I think you'd have a great little video and I'd GL it.

    • If you tighten this up some and remove some of the dead space, bad edits and audio inconsistency it would rock. Great subject matter, good interviews, good music..just slightly to raw yet. cook it just a little more and it will be ready for the air.

    • It is a good beginning. The video is educational and has merit to promote conservation, sustainability and environmentally friendly. The video production is good. The producer needs to include more human faces and their unrehearsed comments.

I would rate this work excellent for beginners.

    • Excellent alternative to getting around in such a crowded city. One has to wonder why bicycles aren't suddenly being 'rediscovered' in other cities and towns with the incredible gas price hikes! Best of all, they offer internships... I'd rather do my internship in a shop dedicated to recycling and renewal than in an office where waste is common.

    • Good story, I had no idea that many people in NY were riding bikes, I loved the shot of the lady in the business suit riding down the street. I hope more people around the country see this and follow.
As for the production value, good music, camera was sometimes all over the place thus making portions hard to watch, however, with that said at times I felt like I was watching a Beastie Boys video (must be a NY thing?!)I would have liked some more interviews.
