I got into a cab in New York City with my camera and the cab driver told me the most extraordinary story about a dream he had where he was looking at his image in a mirror and he was wearing this cowboy hat, the face was his, but he is a Union soldier during the Civil War and he has been with Abraham Lincoln when he was shot. So the next day, he told his brother in law and said there was a website called findagrave.com and for the next 6 months he searched the web and finally found his face. The guy was Charles Hamlin and his father was Lincoln's Vice President, Hannibal Hamlin and he was with Lincoln when he was shot. I went to my friend who is a Civil War collector and we found Hamlin in a book as well as his picture on findagrave.com and I have to say, it sure looks like John. At the very least, it's a great New York City story.
