In a world where the action of war has become so commonplace, DisPATCH raises the question “why?”. A vivid stream of early war footage represents our detachment from the reality of war, the atomic bomb at the flick of a switch and the global coverage on
satellite TV. At no time in the past have we been kept further from the atrosities of war and the acceptance of going to war now
appears an easier pill to swallow. Throughout this film we’re shown damning facts and figures from campaigns over history, some are
now cast in stone others will continue to escallate if we allow it.

I appreciate what you're trying to do here. I think your statistics are good. Your message is good. Your visual style is great. But I think the piece loses a lot of its power due to its length. The same amount of content could be explored in 3-4 minutes. Also, the cool visual feel that you achieve with the mirror effect loses its appeal when you realize that its applied to the entire film. Which is a shame, because it is quite cool. If you cut the length in half, I think you'll have something very powerful.

RL. Too long. Not enough info. Repetitive visuals. You're trying to make a good point. And you've got some creativity. But this should be about 3 minutes in length. I kept waiting for something new to happen. After 4 minutes, I turned it off.

I'm pleased that the message appears to come across despite the potential floors in the film. The length I think is a valid point and I'd probably agree that cutting it may make it a punchy piece, especially in a forum like this. The film was created I guess for quite an arthouse audience and this is why I felt the duration was OK, it gives time for the viewer to contemplate. That said, there is a natural section in the final quarter of the film that could be lifted out and I may do just that if it's felt that it may help widen it's audience, what do people think?
