Wildlife artist Mark Coreth has always wanted to sculpt a snow leopard in its own environment. ItÂ’s mid-winter, 14,000 foot up in the Himalayas and the cats are proving as elusive as ever. Encouraged by the warmth of the Ladakhi villagers he meets and with the expert help of the Snow Leopard Conservancy (India), Mark finally achieves his dream. This is a cut down version of a longer film which helps draw attention to the precarious existence of this beautiful animal. If you want to help go to www.snowleopardconservancy.org

Funny, querky. I like the goal being the sculpture. Reality seen through a video recorder become art in the form of sculpture. Great character. GL.

Goody - another pod by Ropey! I greenlit your 'Return Of The Soldier' a week ago and I'll greenlight this one too if you find a way to get it below 5 mins (how, I have no idea - so much content!) BTW you have a great ear for appropriate background music and I would have loved to hear more music in this pod.

another fab pod! the sculpture animation is my fav bit though!

Hi Rupert,
Great to see this on Current! Really demonstrates the difficulty of seeing the snow leopard. I greatly enjoyed your Falklands piece as well. Superb.

I adore how you've captured Mark's character - and although some of the scene might be over-log for the television, for the net this s great.
It is sooooo British. Love it! -
I really liked this but I kept thinking how hillarious it would have been if after all the trouble of doing the research and going there and talking to the locals he staged some obviously fake leopard attack where the leopard seemed to eat him. I know; I'm an idiot.

Bammmm! Just like that, 25 more points. Excellent work. I love animation, so the intro already had me going... I greenlit your video, Ropey. Please do me a favor; I could really use your review... Please, take a chance at my New Hip Hop Art pod. It could use your personal videography advice and approval for TV.
Don't sleep, now... or Cat nap, or whatever. Thank you! 8') -
This is so awesome and very different. This guys art is really cool. Green LIght.

I enjoyed this piece. Reminds me of the BBC. The close ups on the kids are priceless. GL

i saw your soldier in falklands pod earlier and was blown away by the uniqueness of the story and by the cinematography. this snow leopard piece is also very good though it has less of the lyrical quality of the soldier pod. but, still a wonderful piece of filming...and in very cold conditions. great close ups of the children. very talented filmmaker.
