The NRA and Big Oil companies have far too much control in the political and social arenas. This video satirizes how far these organizations will go to maintain that control. WARNING - this video contains extreme cartoon violence

  • Super creative. This is great! My own comment is that you might want to make is a little shorter.
  • I'm not 100% sure what it is that you have here, but whatever it is, I loved it. You've got some talent at work here. GL. -zen

  • Didn't know what to expect at first, but got totally into this short. Enjoyed the twisted storyline---Sinking-4u
  • Would actually make more sense of the relationship between Big Oil and the NRA was more symbiotic: Sniper torches oil fields, oil prices soar, Big Oil calls NRA to tell them to keep up the good work. But, of course, that'd screw up the whole, apocalyptic finale. So I'm going to presume that we're not supposed to apply too much logic to this pod, and give it a GL for the sheer, perverse energy this displays.
  • I love this video, and the music!! So badass!
  • I love the political commentary and I love the graphics. This fits well with the music too and kept my attention throughout. I want to see more like this, keep it up!
  • I liked that you were saying something in an unconventional way. Kind of wierd, but I think I got it. Could use a snip, but this gets a GL.

  • I like the length, the music and the message.

    GL.
  • Ok...a greenlight, but i don't know if the nra is a national threat. however, the symbolism is good. nice.
  • way too long...and there's a number of logical fallacies in this piece as well.

  • ...although, I will admit that, ultimately, I agree that the NRA is a really messed up right leaning organization.

  • marley say arrr. thar be violent, i might need another peg leg and eye patch after that. pirates like violent and like this movie. GL!
  • Extremely innovative on multiple levels. Great use of music and timing with the animation.

  • The music is a good choice and the animation style fits. There are some bits that work better than others, but on the whole this is pretty tight. I know very little about the NRA, but I get the basics of how a gun works and what it's for... an organisation that promotes that sounds like a bad idea to me.
  • Superb! Love the music. I think that's my dad's old 1976 Buick Regal!
  • It's way too long at the moment. I'm interestedin the ideas presented, but I need something more than a pumping bass beat and some graphics to sustain my interest for that length of time.
  • That was great man. I really like your style. We should collaborate. If your interested let me know, and I'll get my info to you. link
  • bit too long though
    hatsoff
  • Thanks for the GL & comment on Tantric Tourists!

Interesting idea to only have music and have the cartoons communicate through symbols. I liked the rough nature of the cartoons [ie-they weren't very refined graphics] it fit well with the topic. A little shorter and it will be much stronger.

  • Living in Australia and viewing theses issues from such distance, one forgets how and who is controlling the world. Sad but true. Good work.
  • Hi Patrick - - Graphic...Point made though... GL'd it....If ya get a chance - please review:

  • woah!!! awesome piece!!! GL!

check out my Sony HD vcam sometime!!
  • Good concept, but it looks like you could have spent more time on the indivisual elements; The stickmen
could have used a different look and the generated particles look a little bit rushed thru. And might want to do something 'bout the pace. I think the point could
have been made in a shorter time span...

  • Just a quick response to the comments about length. I totally agree that this piece runs a little long and in an ideal world, would be cut down. This piece was created as a music video to a pre-existing piece of music- so I was locked into the length. Does that excuse issues of pace? Not really. Its a viable argument that there isn't enough content to justify its length. But, it is what it is.

If I can get an edited music track from Black Mooge - I will cut it down. But if not, so it goes.....
  • To my opinion, the technique used is just right bringing scary-dark, sharp on the edges, paring excellently with the music pod. As a result, it generates quite terrifying effect, so the goal is certainly achieved. Downside though: I agree with previous comments about a bit too-long play but my bigger concern is: it turns somewhat game-ish towards the end (when the killing spree begins) which dulls the effect all-of-a-sudden. Also, the beginning events of the pod wouldn't be correctly interpreted without reading the description of the pod prior to watching - NRA is posted but the OIL connection isn't so clearly (it's a cowboy, no oil though). Speaking of the "locking the length to the audio background" aspect: ending this particular music with 2 seconds of amplifying the volume and then fading it down to nothing for another three seconds at any given moment wouldn't cause an "interrupted audio" problem - the music is monotone which gives such editing flexibility.
Thank you for your opinion and comment on the "Santilli's Stand on MS"!

  • To a great pod GL....a lot of violance though...but this should still be on tv to help the cause.

please let me know what you think of my newest "B-Green"

    thanks

  • I also thought this was very bold. I couldn't stop watching it as it was powerful and deliberate. The music just rocks and makes this piece stand out. Must have take a while to put this together. Nice work. GL!
  • A lot of work in the animation department. Nice use of the color red (reminded me of Scheidler's List).

The message wasn't totally clear to me in first view and I'm still not sure if NRA and Oil CO's were working together. But the message is there.

    Nice job. GL

I would also invite your comments on my first VC2 - Table Manners - and a GL if you deam it worthy or comments if not..

  • Thank for the GL on my Brazil Show project.
Your film is great, I love the animation and I totally got it from the beginning. I couldn't stop watching it. I know it's hard to put all the pieces together in 5 mins, but I think you did an great job. GL.

  • Love the monochrome syle.

  • Patrick, this is a Current TV first. I love the style. Your music has a grea tone, and the lack of color lends to the emotion of what firearms are doing to some communities. GL, and thank you for your comments on my Susan Cagle piece.

  • this is a case where music carries the piece. the piece is only as strong as the music.
  • The animation is very clever and done with great skills. The music is very hypnotic and keeps you engaged throughout the story. The production was well executed all around. Great job. GL from me.

When you get a chance, please check out my pod , and let me know what you think about this reversed perspective on the world. Any kind of constructive criticism is always welcomed. Thanks!
  • very cool pod, informative and well produced

I did enjoy this, but I always enjoy high concept dystopia.

[Picture] I made this one night when someone told me to draw the end of the world. It's something I could only see with the side of my eye, but something you went at head-on in this pod. It's somewhat chilling that the styles are similar; blood and particle splatter on cold ambiguous symbols. I wonder what we grew out of. [2...] Check out the Knife's music video for "We Share Our Mother's Health" in case you have not. Do that right now.
