I had this great idea to celebrate the Bears and give some exposure to a local Chicago band, Silver Atlas.

Please let me know if you have any ideas for a good video for this song. Running around in a Bear suit is easy, but the song deserves something with a bit more substance. Maybe something with gym equipment...

  • Didn't Current show something like this before? Or was it a music video?....where the guy in plain clothing went around with a sign the same way giving away hugs. Perhaps if I hadn't seen that one I would've felt differently about this. Seems gimicky with the costume, while the one I saw felt geniune. Always fun to watch people's reactions though.

  • Yup. The Free Hugs video Juan Mann did for the band Sick Puppies was my inspiration. It's kind of a movement. I saw his video right after the Chicago Bears got into the Super Bowl and thought - free hugs... Bears... Bear Hugs... Free Bear Hugs! Seemed like people didn't really know what to do with themselves for those 2 weeks before the big game. So I thought this would be a great way to celebrate that we were in the game. We lost unfortunately, but at least we got there. Next year.

It celebrates liberty and humanity, and despite races and cultural differences or however awkwardness it might be for the different individuals, it's about love, warmth and life that is universal and it is the TRUTH.

  • Very clever and cool idea. I like where this is going. As far as any further ideas for the video, maybe having more people join the bear hug revolution and slowly building a bear army(?). But then again maybe I'm crossing the line from cute to creepy. Footage was definitely a lot of fun. Keep it up!

  • I was the Bear. I got the idea from the free hugs video Juan Mann did a few months earlier for the Sick Puppies. It's kind of a movement now. People around the world are giving out the free hugs. I just thought it'd be fun to celebrate the Bears.
