As we face a future in which clean water will become less and less
accessible, we must re-evaluate our wastewater treatment systems and develop them into more earth-based processes that utilize human knowledge of the natural world. Watch as students from the Ecosa Institute's summer Permaculture/Water Design Intensive construct an ecological wastewater treatment system, or Ecomachine, in Prescott's Ecohood under the direction and guidance of the system's creator, Dr. John Todd, and workshop coordinator Andrew Millison.

  • GReenLight!! This is a beautiful video. Thanks for making this. It is an extremely important topic!!! I would like to direct those interested in this to the book "When the Rivers Run Dry" by Fred Pearce. THis book is an easy read to a very little talked about global crisis. In the video, I would maybe think about putting the explanation of the 50 gallon drum collectors before you go into detail about the water plant and jar test. Maybe some more detail about how systems like this actual work.
Please check out my pod " Doing My Part/Solar Energy" listed in the Environment section.

  • This was simply beautiful to watch. The visuals would tell the story without sound. Beautiful...and I guess the water parts good too. : ) GL.

  • This is beautifully shot and edited together. I like the white film bars - used that on my Flexible promo - and the water titles. Clean and crisp like the content. GL! Good luck with this. It should be on TV.
  • Hey Dharma Dog,

Great peice! I loved it. Very well done. Held my attention throughout, beautiful images, clean, crisp edits: the message inspiring, and educational!

I know how important microbes are to human health, turning a toxic body or human eco system to a healthy one, so learning about one more way microbes work unseen by you and I, sustaining life, validates another of natures mysteries for me. Wow! I love the "dharma" of probiotic bacteria-what have you done for your life-sustaining bacteria today: in your garden, in the water and in your body?

    As above, so below!

  • interesting. I was kinda wanting to know a little more about the results, did the water become potable in this case and how bad was it to begin with? What was it contaminated with? With the cans of paint at the top, maybe the water was still being contaminated. Could the well itself be cleaned, or just water from it?
Great Pod and always looking forward to more from dharmadog, thanks.

  • Great video, very informative.

From the start of the bullrush segment on, the volume drops and it becomes harder to hear than the rest of the video.

Great work, change is here. Please check out our videos too.
