I have to admit that it is a little weird and unnatural to watch elephants, horses, zebras, dogs and tigers dancing and prancing around on a stage, but is this cruelty to animals. I think it is, but yet millions of people take their kids to see the circus every year. I don't get the attraction. PETA and other animal rights orgs claim that Barnum & Bail abuse/mistreat the elephants http://getactive.peta.org/campaign/tonka_luna). Yet, Barnum claims to be protecting the animals and even boasts about having created a refugee and breeding farm to save the Asian elephant http://www.ringling.com/animals/elephant/cec.aspx). I don't know who to believe, but I still think the 'circus' is kind of a weird thing and would prefer to see these beautiful animals thriving in a more natural habitat.

it's funny because when i was younger i LOVED going to the circus. now im against it. i remember when i was younger seeing people protesting and my mom would drag me by and just say dont listen theyre trying to start trouble. so im sure other parents do the same. theyre trying to take their kid to a fun event without thinking about the cruelty.
