This is both a sad tale as well as a very intriguing one. These two successful artist, longtime lovers and tech junkies committed suicide earlier this summer. This piece explores a condition that many feel is caused by the internet and the disconnected world we can trap ourselves into with modern technology.
I can understand the syndrome that is discussed. It is very easy to disconnect physically from the people in the world around you as you become over socialized online. As with most problems in our world, this is solved by having a good caring network of family and friends that can keep you balanced and smack you around when you need/deserve it. It's much more complicated than that, but it's a good place to start.
