One out of every one hundred babies are born with gender identity disorder. These transsexuals are not afflicted with an illness or disease, but rather have been assigned a natural hormone discrepancy that they must fight to overcome.

  • This is a condition that affects millions across the world. Our environment is full of toxins and chemicals that alters the developmental process of the fetus during gender and sex development. We will see more and more of this in upcoming years. It is relevant to all that are planning to have children and will need to learn what to expect and how to treat your child.

  • I responded on the other program. Again...thank you for your bravery. This is a very non-informed subject.

  • I once dated some one with gender dysphoria... He was very reluctant to talk about it though, and could not accept himself at that time. Wish he could have seen this pod.

  • Absolutely: brave, beautiful, moving, one of my all-time favorite pods. Transsexual and transgendered people are so misunderstood, intrinsically, even in this modern age, and it requires so much more education and understanding than any other aspect of civil liberty.

My first experience with this was when one of my best friends revealed himself, to me, as a heterosexual woman. I felt so blessed that he was willing to include me in his process of necessary transition.

From the pod: "It cannot be cured, because it is not an illness. I cannot fix them because they are not broken."

  • A fantastic pod. Wish everyone would become more educated about transgender issues; we need to dismantle the taboo once and for all.

  • I saw this guy on Miami Ink the other night and didn't really understand his story. Now after seeing this I have a better understanding of what he and others are going through. Great pod!

  • Brought tears to my eyes. I disagree with one point: Nature doesn't make mistakes; nature just makes.

  • Some are still in the dark ages and calling this a disorder. Some folks even dare to claim this is a choice and then others show thier uneducated thoughts by saying that those who suffer with in this gender conflicted soul are just perverted or gay.

None of the above has one bit a truth in it. Gender is NOT controlled but given or created with in one as they are being created in the womb. This has been proven many times.

Choice? The only choice to be made is either allow this birth defect control you or you control it. This is the choice one faces. Who would ever wake up one day and say hey man like I feel like having a ton of discrimination against me and oh yea I want to be on the hot list and hunted down and beat and killed and oh lets even add I think I will add into my day hatred and being rejected by my friends and family and society!

Now who would ever claim to be Transsexual or Inter Sexed or Transgendered to gain those things listed above by choice? Get a grip!

The funny thing is most people have had transsexuals in thier daily lives and have not ever known anything at all. Those who have had enough of this pain that a gender conflicted soul brings and stands up to do something about it should be praised not persecuted! IT TAKES GUTS AND HARD WORK WITH EVERY OUNCE OF DETERMANATION ONE CAN MUSTAR UP TO STAND UP AND DO SOMETHNG TO CORRECT THE MISTAKE THEY WERE BORN WITH.

This post was not directed at any one individual!
I have spent the last several hours reading post and replies and just had enough and decided to throw my 2 cents in. Nothing more and nothing less.
My heart goes out to all that take courage and do something about this conflict they deal with on a daily basis.
    Have a wonderful day!

  • martiantone,
Nah I think you may be misunderstanding me some what. I had been reading for hours not just this thread but threads all over current. Like I said this was NOT aimed at any one and this meant you as well and if you feel different about that then I am sorry to have ruffled your feathers here.

I spoke nothing about DSM. I do not feel I was inappropriate at all. Like I said I just added my 2 cents.

This statement here of yours is not quite correct.
(( A transsexual is someone who undergoes reassignment through surgery. A transgender individual alters his or her gender, thereby only changing external appearance and affect, perhaps by also taking a series of hormones. ))

Many T.s people never opt for surgeries for many reasons but they are a still a true transsexual. Transgender is an umbrella term that a T.S is placed in and this little box called transgender houses an array of various types of peole.

Look I can not change how you see things and I am not trying to. I never meant to upset you or cause any frustration with you crap I do not even know you. All you were to me was the post above where I decided to place a comment and nothing more. Now you are the one I am talking with and sharing our views again nothing more..

If I have said anything to offend you then please forgive me and please in the future do not judge my responses to your self as if I was talking directly to you unless I use your name. I mean I will NOT ever say one thing about any one or what they write with out using there name to address them with respect. I do not stab people in the back by jumping on them in post.

You shared your thoughts and I shared mine. Where is there a problem there? I hope you can understand what I am saying here because as I said earlier this was not aimed directly at you but this reply is to your reply to me. ;)

Sorry if I did not make that clear. Have a great day and I am looking forward to reading any other post you write. Jami

  • As a fellow transman, I was touched by this video. I love seeing someone like me in the media and educating others of our condition. Thank you Mark! :-)
