- Bay Area (155)

- Hiking (32)
- Camping (27)
Does anyone have any camping recommendations? Specifically, within a 3-4 hour drive of San Francisco, a hike-in/backcountry situation (as opposed to car-camping), two nights out.

Can we also add in LA area camping, same criteria?
Thanks-

Hetch Hetchy near Yosemite is beautiful.I went there about a year ago with Cory Boldt and it was spectacular. I suggest a two night trip running clockwise. The hot afternoon sun on day three is so perfectly quenched by the trip past - and through - this waterfall.

Big Basin near Santa Cruz is greatBig Basin Redwoods State Park is beautiful. It is close, and there are some nice hikes there.
If you want the backpacking experience, hike into some of the spots. You can also enter, or exit at Wadel Creek, which is on the Hywy1 north of Santa Cruz.-

Punch Bowls?Has anyone been to the 'remote' camping sites at 'Punch Bowls'? The site is super cheesy, but might be worth a drive from L.A.??
