  • Penquins is cool
  • Great job. I love those penguins. Thank You for helping to support their collective survival.

I'm giving you a tentative greenlight on the assumption that you will tighten it up a bit and shorten the length for airtime.

I think you can afford to cut a minute or two off the top.
For starters, the historical reference / lesson at the beginning (while very pertinent to the topic) doesn't seem to be consistent with the flow of the rest of the pod.

Also, think I saw a few clips used more than once (scuba guy, penguins diving)

I'm sure that you can communicate the same message and have a similar or greater impact if this were in a 3-4 minute package.

My recommendations for your pod are based on my observation that current rarely, if ever airs VC2 pods longer than 4 minutes.

You should also know this is coming from someone who has a long, long way to go in the editing department as you will see in every pod I have uploaded. Just don't have the time or the knowledge to do it right.

Give me a call or e-mail if you know any editors that have done HDV 24p footage in final cut studio 2. I intend to hire someone to support me.

Really well done piece...I want to see more.

  • My grandfather is a naturalist on the Sea Bird and Sea Lion for your Columbia River and Alaska trips. I love what you guys do and am so happy to see you trying to get on Current!
  • Wow, just wow. This piece IS currenttv. Really high production values, great information, interesting shot choices. Not to mention some fantastic underwater video. GREAT. I always like to inject some criticism, even when I love a piece, so here it is: some of the archival photography from the French expedition. I would have liked to see it either fill the frame, or put over a matte of some sort. Still, one of the best pieces I have seen yet on Current. I'm jealous!

  • Impressive. It is one thing to hear about an issue and another to see it first hand. Looks as if post # 12 has said it all.

The images and production are very nice. GL
  • A perfect example of a story that doesn't tell you what to think, but what to think about!
