Lovely. The voiceover made it but good job on the effects too. Well done. This should be on TV. Maybe a bit short? But if it's part of a series, no worries.

Cool story, brought back visuals from On The Road. I could just see Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs teaching this kid about life in the middle of nowhere.

This is a very interesting Diary film or self portrait. However my only questiontion: Is all this true or pure fiction? perhaps because it crosses the boundaries of both I like it a lot! Green Light!

It is a portrait of John Perry Barlow...the original portrait was done by Fly...part of her pieces is writing what the person she's drawing is talking about during the portrait. It is one of many portraits in her book PEOPs & one of several we've done as video. It is all true as far as I know, but only Barlow knows for sure.

Absolutely beautiful let's see the whole series!

interesting story, wacky po-mo video. good times! More stuff like this should be on t.v.

The etherial quality of the video against the background of Mr. Barlow's gravelly voice and hard life story are a perfect match. The only thing that would make it better would be to make it longer, but if its part of a series its fine the way it is. Great job!

Very compelling and well done. Reminds me a bit of my Shadow Boxer pod. When I first put it up, it was just Seamus McDonagh boxing to the camera with music, then someone on CTV said he sounded interesting and wanted to hear more from him. We put a voice over on and it went right to #1 and has become this sort of cult miracle, Seamus just was cast in an off Broadway show about a boxer and his dad on the strength of the 2 pods we did for CTV. Reason I tell this long story, I really like the voice over a LOT and I would love to see more video on the guy, it's sort of the reverse of my Shadow Boxer story. GL. Thanks for kind words on Twilight Ballet. I have had some great good fortune finding people on street corners as I did Seamus.

When reading your comments about how this was done, I'd love to see a pod on Fly actually creating her unique "portraits". getreel

Fly is pretty damn awesome. She ran a workshop I was a part of at MoCCA in NYC and I finally bought Peops a year later, just last week, and I've been enjoying it since. This new project is great and it brings something more, hearing the voice of one of the people in the book whose profile I just read. This would make a great companion series to the book. Best of luck!

YES. Ready for TV. No, really. Awesome story, great video, and amazing music. Also, the people who set this up are good at what they do, and make the SUBJECT and his story the focus while adding audiovisual content that complements the narrative. The production values are on a professional level, and the added audiovisuals are not cheesy or overwrought or hippy-trippy distractions.
Yep, I'm a snob. And, as a snob, I'm happy to praise good work when I encounter it.-

A good choice for a first installment from PEOPs, and the Killer Banshees are very in-tune with the fabulous FLY. More please, indeed!

I really enjoyed the production style and engaging visuals of this pod. The tone on the voice over was also a perfect match to it. Nicely done! GL from me.
When you have a moment, please check out my latest pod BIG BUGS , and let me know what you think about this reverse perspective on the world. Thanks!

well well... how do I say this. Due to the fact that I know the man, maybe its not fair that I write about this video. But I have had great interest in truth, freedom and living life to the fullest. There for I must man explain John Parry Barlow has covered so much ground, this piece dose not capture him... at all.
It is by all means a beautiful work, but its just dose not portray the man. And I do believe he is a life and a figure head that really should covered more in deathly. I really hope that one day there will be a more accurate portrait done. We can all learn from his journey... and it is next to impossible to really gain any perspective of him, there no books films or interview that get in there and revel who and what has done in his life. No one has taken the time. I hope its done before he dies.
