Artist Alero gives us his introduction, instruction, application, and reflection of the newest emerging urban art in Los Angeles. Taking the art of graffiti to another level, this presentation encourages the inventiveness and leadership of emerging artists in our community to build and continue building. Packaged in the sweetest pod, viewers will get a lick of tasty treats to come from the urban underground. Make something out of nothing...

    • Really cool subject matter, what there doing is great using the byproduct of art to make more art, thats how everything we do should be. If we can't find a practical use for waste turn it into art. Well put together, I liked the how to. The music was sweet. Nice find on the moth.

    • Professionally done! Not too much...not too little. Interesting subject. Music fits, but is just a bit too out front. Also, when you're doing interviews in noisy areas, get that mic as close to your subject as possible. If you can afford it, a couple hundred dollars can land you a shotgun mic and pole.(You can spend a lot more as well) Your work deserves it. The only thing that might hold this back is the audio and the rest is so strong, I think it should run anyway. It's easy to learn technical stuff, but creative talents are another story. You have what it takes! Keep it up! GL of course!

I noticed you used your own music. Nice!
Not my regular listening choice but I did a web site and music video for a local Hip-Hop artist. Wouldn't mind your opinion on it:

If anything production-wise, tune down the music a bit while your subject is talking. A great pod nonetheless. GL

    • nice music - and its the first time I actually see some amazing art made out of cans - though the useability factor seems to be low and I don't know how practically relevant the final product really is, even in terms of art if anybody is buying it or so. Well, art is not particularly my favourite category, but the video seems to be well produced and the cans are quite show worthy.

    • well shot and edited video. i think what i like best about the can art as a subject, is that i light of the live earth concerts that just happened, is that while this is "art" it is also really bad for the environment, at least according to what i was programmed with as a child. i was taught that aresol cans released cfc's which are in part reposible for the hole i the ozone layer. so the artists bust open the cans to let all the cfc's out and then spray it with more paint! that's awesome, because there should be a destruction in creation, and how more destructive can you be than fucking the earth up? brilliant!

    • Thanks for the GL - loved the pod, always crzy to see what so many other people are into! The only videography advice I have is to make less edits and transitions, sometimes its hard to keep up. I understand the desire to reflect the art in the images, but sometimes you can just let the images speak for themselves without trying to force it!

Keep it up - heading back to LA on Sept 1, if you ever want to collaborate, holler: nickvivion@gmail.com

    • Gl.. I like this video all around. Your voice over, the video work ,music and interview are all very strong. I like the artist. I have one request of the artist. First,.... thank him for recycling! Fantstic! As he is changing the canvas of the graffiti artist from walls and building to cans, he could also start thinking about moving away from using aerosol spray to deliver the paint to the sculpture. That part is the non-environmentally good part. But, every step counts and this is a great and creative direction towards change.

The art itself was a brief introduction into the application and the ability of creation... A stepping stone for aspiring artists to lead and impact. If it could inspire you to insist there be something more, then others will think so to. Thank you for the comment...

    • I had Green light this pod long time ago. I like it as an informative pod but in terms of the actual ART I dont like the art as it is. It seams school art it has not texture and not psicological resonance. He could take his idea further by crating a large sculture rather that issolate a single can. In short the idea od a can beinng transformed is okay buy the actual piece is not there it needs to take this ideas further. Hope this helps
