On the 30th June 2007, whilst filming in Newcastle upon Tyne. I caught on camera the Newcastle Gateshead Quayside link bus emmitting quite alot of diesel fumes.
I thought these buses were enviromentally friendly? Aparently they have a back up diesel turbine engine, this one seemed to have a few problems.

I'm all for enviromentally friendly ways of saving the planet, but when I came across this Electric bus pouring out diesel fumes, I didn't think it was Eco friendly !

Is there a better solution? How many of these vehicles are out there? KIs this solution in a trial period?

I gave a GL because you have a nice topic. Editing, audio and camera handling were okay as well.
But I do have one question. Do you have other footage of the bus driving while pouring out smoke? Because in your piece when it was driving there was no smoke and when it was parked then yes there was smoke. For all I know this bus could have been on fire or something could of just went wrong with the engine. I just don't know?
Aplotuch asked another good question. "How many of these vehicles are out here?" It seam that this piece is just an opener to something bigger. I would work more on this piece and close up some of those questions, which seam to be hanging out in the open. You don't need to make it a 10, 20 or 30 min piece but just fill in the gaps. Other than that nice job. Just my 2 cents -
Thumbs up

I am hesistant to contibute to the greenlighting of this pod, but i think it portrays a vital angle, that we can't expect to step into green technologies, as well as a post oil age without running into any problems. But still the above mentioned step is a step none the less neccessary for humanity to take to reach a post oil age. Plus I marvel at the possibility that my children will be able to take a bus like that to school, instead of the filthy polluting yellow buses I had to endure during my youth!
I used to just hold my breath until i was on the bus, but with the sweaty windows in the winter time, the inside air wasn't much better!
