Liquid Ice Entertainment/Alantis Productions has been given the privilege of shooting and interviewing many of the biker's, venue's, vendor's, city official's, store owner's, sponsor's, etc. of the infamous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally which is in its 67th year of fun, making new friends, promoting biking and its lifestyle. Coupled with Rod Woodruff's legendary Buffalo Chip Campground created in 1982 this piece was created entirely for the viewer's pleasure.

This video is shot too amateurly. The screenshots don't fit with the constant motion of the video. The camera is too shaky that I start to feel "car sick" from watching too long. Partly because a lot of the frames were shot from a car. The animation of the words is too grainy. I would have expected something a little more professional looking. Although the thunder had nothing to do with the rally it was cool. I think if you allow more Nat audio in it would make the video a little more lively. Try to find dolly equipment if you can. Don't repeat frames too many times; i.e. person spitting flame. Don't hold on a video that has no actual attraction. The belly button piercing was a little too long to fit in the video. Once the video got past the belly button part it started to pic up in interest, however, try to avoid the two interviews. They break the video like the screen shots. The video has potential, I don't approve of it yet to go on tv. Good Luck.

this looks like more of a home video than a news piece. needs to have some narration and trimmed down a lot. the ass shots are also pretty unneccessary.

It's too bad that you had to go and sign up with Current TV just to post a negative comment. I hope to see something you have done to see if you could do better.
This is called flaming.
As you have not posted anything as of yet anyway! -
I didnt have to sign up for current to post a negative comment. I post out of my own free will.
Also, constructive criticism isn't flaming. I'm sorry if you are too thin-skinned to handle honest feedback, but as it is now, the video is mostly just a montage set to cheesy music. It would be improved a lot if it were more concise and were more informative (ie. include some sort of narration.)
As for my own videos, I just joined, so I haven't had the time to make any yet, but when I do, feel free to comment on them.-

Aww Yes the Sturgis Rally,
It is to bad that some of the so called video guys can't see that the Sturgis Rally is all about the people and not so narrated garbage that no one wants to hear. The truth of the matter is that unless you have been to the Rally and you have seen the sites and smelled to smells of the BEAUTIFUL Black Hills. you have no opinion worth posting. I do indeed like the video. It has some great features in it. The first Buffalo Chip shot from a distance was great. Buddas...what can I say, that place is a classic. Glad they let you in to film a little. I think that Sam must not be old enough to go to the rally and just doesn't understand that Sturigs is 4 time s older that he is. Keep ROCKIN THE RALLY!!! God Bless SOUTH DAKOTA!!!! YEEE HAWWW -
I think its a good start, but not yet ready for a green light. Needs some fine tuning. I for one am a rider, and was really excited to view to your pod. Your discription lead me to expect that "many biker were interviewed". Did you edit them out? Also I didn't see a point to the 3 or 4 still shots of the asses in chaps. They don't mesh well in between the video. I too agree with the others that this needs work, but thats no need to red light it. Give them a chance to review comments and make changes. That's what the comment board is for. Good luck Reen_Reed.

Nothing but pure hype, devoid of any substance. Where was the social dialogue on the culture of riding or the Native American protests? Total spectacle. Learned nothing.

This is obviously a party piece. Biker's know biking and it doesn't always have to be about learning just kickin' back enjoying the road. You are young and don't get it, it was obviously shot from a bike for those of you who claim it's shaky! Get a life, a biker life's just about the road and kickin' back!
d -
ok, ok, it has some shake and it's shot from a bike big deal... it's a great piece and one your generation can learn from. Life isn't always about learning or news or substance as some of you said. Sturgis is all about having fun, being with friends and making new ones. It's a great piece and should be on tv for the youth to see!

Some biker friends told me about this vid so I thought I'd check it out, you don't hear too much about biking much less rallies.
I've been a bike since I was 10 and my dad took me riding. I realize some have put you guys down calling saying you're too young to understand but what about Xtreme sports? Didn't any of you get into motocross or biking because it was fun? I loved riding down the road sitting behind my dad and my hair blowing in the wind.
Chill guys, this is a party! Just how much substance is a party suppose to have? It should go up on tv because you guys could learn how to kick back like bikers know how to do.

The video pretty much tells the story of what the rally is like. If there are those who don't like what they see it's only because they don't get it, or they just don't like bikers and our lifestyle.

Hey guys chill. If you're not a biker just watch and enjoy. This should be on tv so you guys can see what it's all about!
-
I like it you go girl! Put this on TV people!

I've been to Rally. I see rally each year since I've lived out here. I know that more work can be put into the video that would make it a great video. Being a person who has worked in the tv industry and worked on videos for school the editing of this video looks as if it was all thrown together. I have given positive comments on the video and that makes it so I'm not flaming. Renn and Mark are more notable when they do documentary pieces rather than montages. If this video was shot and set with the same attitude as a documentary; i.e. more nats, more interviews I think the audience would get a better idea about what Rally is about.

Alll I can say is "job well done". especially when you consider that a lot of the video is shot from the back of moving bike. Hey folks this is a very good sample of what the Sturgis Rally is all about. Renn & crew did a good job at putting this together. For those who really want to see what the Sturgis Rally is all about, they need to experience it PERSOANLLY. I have been to it for many years. Again good job Renn & crew.
