Autism Enlightened is a documentary film that features 3 parents and a physician who share their experiences and knowledge regarding the diagnosis and treatment of autism. The film is intended to educate as well as provide hope .

  • my son has been diagnosed with the 'autism spectrum' and is getting excellent care in a variety of disciplines .. the key for parents is to rid the denial and get the kids the help they need .. i'm astonished at the lack of federal funding for something as huge as this .. but, as the community grows, so will resources (fingers crossed) .. nice film ..

  • A little long and could have been a little more visual, but I liked the personal point of views, Johanna's the best. There was alot of important information there, but I thinking cutting to the meat could make this so much more intresting...to watch. GL.

  • I am a neurodivergant, I was "diagnosed" as a dyspraxic when I was 8. To see things like this just makes me disappointed at how the world sees us. This video claims that they have "cured" several children of their Autism.

    How can you cure me of who I am? Yes, I'm withdrawn, I don't speak to people that often. But that does not mean I have a disease, that does not mean that I cannot lead a "full life". To say that I can't would merely be to insult me and say that my current life is not full.

    This video make me feel sad for the children shown. Unique individuals, with a great future destroyed because they did not fit into society's view of what is the norm, what is right. Because their parents couldn't stand their children differing from the expected.

    If you are a parent who's child has been "diagnosed" with an Autism Spectrum Condition, and you haven't read "Don't Mourn For Us" http://ani.autistics.org/dont_mourn.html), then do. You will struggle to understand the great opportunity your child has been given, until you understand that your child was not stolen from you by Autism, you were simply given a different one than you were expecting.

    I also do not like the theories circling in the media right now about how children have "Caught" autism from chemicals. It is not a disease, you do not catch it. You are born with it, and even then it is not a bad thing.

    Until these races for a cure, or antenatal testing are stopped then we will never be rid of the great prejudice that is set upon us by society.
