Here's motion folk art. My own version of a handmade radio sattelite orbiting the Earth in a do-it-your-self universe. An advertisement made of recycled materials, some tin cans, scrap wood, and a half empty can of house paint...

This is the magic of can of meat film.

  • You'll notice some pixelation on the upload. It's a 720 x 480 29.97 quicktime MP4/MP3 audio. While the orginal is crisp and clean the rack focus shots seem to blur a bit. Does it get in the way of the piece? Let me know!

    Thanks,

  • i like your style.. it took me a second to realize how the hat connected to the whole concept, but i get it now. a satellite connected directly to your head; who wouldn't want that?
  • hated it...

  • Thank you for your comment on my Current dictionary promo. I definitely know about the pixelation...the promo definitely doesn't look like it's supposed to. Anyways, I liked your piece! I especially liked the amiguity...I watched it a couple of times. I think it would be more effective if it was shorter...I started to lose interest after about 15-20 seconds. Overall, though, very good.

    GL/good luck
  • lol hand. there's no other part where u can see the hand. only in the end... so. wtf?
  • I get it. You liked the hand. Well, if you look real careful it shows up a couple of times. I hope that answers your question. That's my hand.
  • I gotta say, this is pretty cool. The style is unique, like your promo that is airing now. GL.
  • I've uploaded a 640x480 MP4. It still pixelates a little at 30 fps...Such is life.
  • The new version is also a bit pixelated @ 640x480 30 fps, as Joe Strummer would say...such is life.
  • We all got our heads up on this one!!! Goed gedaan, jongenji....

  • You have (okay, I know we all have)..... but you especially have a "satellite" connected to your MIND! I love your work!

  • Thanks for the support people. It's tough out here in the ad game, much more competitive than promos. However as the thoughtful bsundancer reminds me; (in a comment on my promo 'where to?' which you really should see just because it's so damm good,) that it is the process that we're here for, not just the money, so you gotta enjoy the process. So I'm gonna kick back and put on "Rock Art and the X-ray style" and have a cold one. I'll let the audience come to me.
    G-d bless.

  • I'm not sure what I was looking at - but it reminded me of the old MTV commercials using stop-and-go.
  • Your absolutely right, i think people have been making fake accounts just to take my ad down. They are crazy trying to attack innocent pods like ours. Green Light. 25pts for you!!!!
  • i really like the hand at the beginning and the hint in the middle and of course at the end - found the red can bit very satisfying and the whole thing very tongue in cheek funny lovely dave lovely work d x
  • I enjoyed watching your latest, inventive work especially your Handmade Television. I have a deep respect for folk art and those who employ organic effects.
  • Your ad for XM is one of innovation. I enjoyed the subtle additional positive messages that went with this ad. There appears to be a hint on recycling to "refuel" the satellite. The only thing that could've made it a little better and that has more to do with personal preferences; is a little more "adventure" and less about the mechcanics of the satellite. However, I love it just way it is and having some animation background; I could easily see other viewers being captivated by your piece. Good work!
  • that was cool...you have some incredible patience. wish I could make something like that...loved the concept too.
  • Very very very creative!!! GL!
check out my Toyota VCAM sometime!
  • for some reason the text is just ruining it for me.
  • cool

  • Once again, great stuff- kinetic sculpture- who knew? I love that sattelite thingy spinning around- just like I picture it. A 2 for 1 art experience.

  • Thx for the words on 170 Chanes: <a href=" http://www.current.tv/watch/153630962">link<... I had the same concerns with the final edit & came to the same conclusion you did. Trippy :-)

I echo Refractors words... Even the 'Digital' has a deep respect for the non-digital. Its poetic in a special way and I've liked all your stuff. The music in particular makes this one really engaging. The occasional hand in the shot distracts me a bit but reminds me its handmade. One of the text lines moves too fast to read and I think the size takes a lot away from the beautiful things to watch. But I really like the 'Heads Up' great title/tag line, and I really like the idea of an analog commercial for a digital product.

So GL from me! Keep doing what you're doing. Its special, in a 'Science of Sleep' sorta way.
  • wonderful!! feels like the sattelite detaches from the machine, the music really makes is fly. great work sir.
  • Artful and whimsical...I love it!
