Good piece. Nice to see someone with some edge to their stuff. The music was great, especially at the end. GL.
Check out my latest here. It has good music at the end too.

Font resolution is poor. It looks like 72dpi graphics were expanded in bitmapped form rather than vector form. The visuals did not really illustrate the message, or did so obliquely, leaving the content unfocused.

Ben,
A pleasure to watch and listen to. Certainly there are some uploading issues effecting the sound quality and graphic quality, but they will probably be worked out when the CTV staff gets hold of it. Also, some of the cuts need to be more precise. Some of the gestures are cut before they are complete, undercutting their clarity and force. It's an interesting technical point on doing that, though. Arguably (at least to me) an interrupted cut can add force to the shot that comes after it, but as always, it's a delicate balance.

I am not sure this is it but I think Current could incorporate visual essays and experimental documentaries like this. GL.

Very cool, you kept me into it for the length. I wasnt sure what you were going for, but I thought it was intriguing.
SO GL from me.
Please take a moment to check out my latest POD, BIG MEDIA fails again and feel free to give it a GL if you like it.
Thanks.

The sound work was great. The quality was there and the chosen sounds were very effective. I also thought the graphic/text/motion graphics work was also effective. The quality of the video, however, wasn't up to par with the graphics/audio quality. That's too bad, because if it was, you could have knocked it out of the park.
But just a question.... if the whole point of the video is that we should listen more closely to our environments and seek out the music of daily life (which is what I found the message to be), than isn't having an electronic soundtrack going against the underlying message of the piece? Wouldn't building a soundtrack from natural sounds be more appropriate? Just a question.

Thanks for the mostly very positive and helpful feedback everyone! I made this film for a webstreaming course, it's pretty compressed, that's why the quality ain't great. I lost the origional file(!).
In answer to the last comment, all the music IS from real sounds!!!!! It's all music I made from samples of everyday objects, some of which are shown in the film, eg. inflating a balloon and hitting a baking tray, NO ELECTRONICS!!! If you want a copy of my album let me know!-

Really makes you appreciate the power of audio alone and in relation to moving images. And the fact that you created all the music with everyday items only makes it better. Really good work!

I think what you're saying here is great although not necessarily something that's right for Current - that said, have you considered making Current promos?

This is great videotography which is informative in a subliminal way. I often need to create music in a similar way, I once used a couple of bananas on the base of a frying and sauce pan, I only got a few beats but it was enough to create a loop. You flick has given me inspiration to get back in the kitchen.

But you must have digitalised the sounds to create the experiments, right?
