Fantastic video work! I like your mix of audio and visuals. Your interviews are interesting and the engaging. This is what makes Current such a great place to view content! = GL
When you have some time, please let me know your thoughts on my piece, Susan Cagle. It is about a NYC Subway artist making her way to the top. Thanks! -
This is a fantastic documentary - perfect for current.tv, hell, it's perfect for PBS! I've heard there might be a full length doc in the works? Can't wait!
-
Wow, MCP you've really captured the healing power of song and it's effect in lifting the spirit of veterans who have lived so long in pain. I want to see more from this inspirational group!

This is so inspirational. Any of us could land on the streets and in trouble at any moment, and I just hope that I could have the spirit of these men to help me through!
-
Freaking Brilliant Phil...
I hope many have the chance to hear these beautiful melodies and witness a true triumph of the soul.

As an avid believer in the power of music and art in general, as well as a Los Angelean, I love everything about this pod. Great work!
-
a bit long, but very beautiful pod. Shows the necessity of hope and purpose as basics in life.
Very touching pod.
Beautifully filmed, by the way. Very professional.
However, I would try to compress it into one video of not more than 7min for the whole issue for current instead of releasing it in parts, unless you make a huge feature-long documentary, and even then a short trailer might be of advantage.
I know it's diffult when you are immersed and emotionally involved in a subject to edit it tightly, so it helps having some film maker friends to edit your video to a trailer and you edit theirs in return?

check out my pod, too, and please tell me what you think:

This is a powerful subject. A powerful description of hope. I appreciate this pod very much and you follow the depth of music well throughout the piece. My only drawback in my opinion is the length. What an amazing story. Inspiring and full of hope.

Right on Phillip,
This story needs to be seen by all.

I too a vetran. Feel for my brothers and sisters who are used and thrown away. These people are heroes, who we should thank for our freedom, not roll up our windows and look away from.

very cool pod, about an intersting topic, if you want it to air on tv you need to shorten it though.

if you have the time, please check out my 2nd pod "Play in a Day" - have managed to get it into the UK top 10, and am really hoping to rise a few places and get it noticed by the staff...! -
Woot!
-
Great job Phil...an issue still not addressed enough. Stay in touch and good luck!
-
Thanks Philip - There isn't enough awareness until every veteran's story is told . . . and then, we might find alternatives to greed and aggression. Your film is poignant, artful and evidence of a hopeful heart. Again, thanks.
-
Amazing. Well done Phil!

Excellent balance, soundtrack. Keeps your attention. Awesome issue.

thanks for the GL on play in a day - all of the feedback on here so far has been really positive, which is brilliant! i agree re: the sound levels - it's one of those weird things that it sounds fine when you export the AVI from premiere, but by the time it gets onto the website the compression seems to make the voices less audible - will be creating an updated version very soon, with a couple of extra scenes to provide more explanation, so will play around with the audio levels then.
can i be really cheeky, and ask you to Greenlight it on the UK site also? (if you're logged in to the US site you need to go to the top right and change it, it's a bit fiddly at times but works after a few clicks) - i just need another 10 points and i'll be at number 6 UK...!
will GL this stateside in a sec if i haven't done so already
cheers -
Hi Phil, your piece is great. Whoever shot it is a great shooter, the sound is awesome, and the story is really uplifting. Thanks for your work and for reaching out.

This is great. Thanks to all that is getting the word out on veterans issues. Ann R.
-
The people need to know and be CONSTANTLY reminded about our vets. We say we support our soldiers today, but how can we say that when we have forgotten the soldiers of yesterday????
-
exceptional and remarkable...a bit lengthy, but you tell a marvelous story. when i can, i'll definitely support these veterans...thanks for fighting for our freedom (such as it is)
-
Thank You for remembering .....
Good Post , Phil. -
Very well done. Nice pod. But, I think you need to cut it down somehow by 2-3 min. Good work though, GL
