Chris Rock taught us that there's no sex in the champagne room. There is however enough perfume, booze and body glitter to bury a relationship.
L'Oreal Men's Hydra-Energetic eliminates the effects of extreme stress, speed shaving and maniacal scrubbing! Will the moisturizing wonder protect Mark from his woman's scorn?
Our friends Justin Kougl and Amanda Gromalski star in this VCAM featuring the voices of Jack Armstrong and Stacy Hines. Created by Andy Cope and Eric Hueber.

I really liked the lighting and look of the spot
-
Absolutely! Thanks for telling me about the spot.
It's incredibly well-produced, from your actors to the lighting to the cuts, and I could see this playing on any network... GL -

Sweet! I was really hoping she'd succer punch him! :)
This is a great production with "TV" written all over it! You guys really understand the comedy editing! Not to mention the lighting and cinematography!
One comment:
I didn't catch the glitter detail the first time around. The voicemail prompted me to watch it all again to fully understand what was going on in the bathroom. I'd worry that the core comedy in the plot relies on a second-time-viewing of the whole thing.
Could he say something like "Oh no! Glitter!!" so it's clear to all, even Slowskis like myself? :)
Cheers! -
GL Funny.

I loved the lighting, camera work, shot selection, editing, sound, use of music on or off, even the VO. Very good. Good enough to be pro. But I didn't like the story. I had no idea what he was doing until the end. I didn't understand why he was using the toilet scrubber on his face. It made me feel like the products weren't good enough. And the VO didn't match what was happening on the screen. I don't understand what the champagne room has to do with the skin care products. And L'Oreal might not like that association. It's one thing that sex sells. But prostitution and stripers are a different story. If you don't get picked, at least you'll have something good for your demo reel.
-
Yeah, even the hi-res version doesn't help. If anything, it look like water drops and it's confusing. The final shot of the glitter is when it finally clicks that it's glitter (I think the SFX helps). If you had established the glitter as soon as he came home, like he walked in the door and looked in the mirror and realized that he was going to be caught.
-
I got that and I'm a girl! Pretty cute!! I'd hit him a little lower.
-
Thanks for your comments!
I love this one! Your attention to detail in the editing and lighting is very good. You were able to pack a lot of storytelling into 30 seconds which is tough. Good luck man!-

Hey, I've got an idea that would just be a simple reworking of the audio that might make the sell a little better. On the VO, eliminate much of it. maybe all of it. It's hard to listen to what he's saying and watch what's going on, especially since they don't coincide. Maybe with a good tag line, the one you already have, you can make the same point without all the noise. Also, instead of the answering machine saying the thing about the strip bar, maybe it could just be some girl he met at the club or something. Something a little less scandelous and the client might go for it.
-
Man...that Trev sure has alot of suggestions. I wonder if he has any pieces on air.
Anywho...great production, but ditto on the storyline. So much happens in the 30 sec. its hard to follow. I think a second cut would help make this a definite shoe in. -
I like your concept - good shooting, good editing, but I would make it slightly longer...maybe show him leaving the bar, or getting dropped off by a sleazy looking girl.
All in all, a funny commercial...GL.
Let me know what you think of my Sony VCAM...thanks! -
Very effective. Nice work. GL

Great filming, great lighting, great choice of protagonist, great idea. Only thing is I'd hold on the slap a milisecond longer to feel that sting. I love it!!! Our VCAMs are very deserving! Thank you for your incredible feedback. Your VCAM is definitely kickass!

Hi,
Was wondering, if the deadline is today then does our vote-count start over tomorrow? I am new to V-CAM contests. Thanks for help! :) Jenn -
NICE!
Champagne production on a beer budget :)
Obviously...a very professional ad.
Funny and effective. GL!

Thank you so much for your feedback on the Pit Bull video. Thanks to your vote, I have finally made it to 10! It has been sitting at 13 for months! I refuse to pimp out my video by giving other producers fake comments followed with the sell. I mean, some people do it with sincerity. The one time I really tried to pimp, it backfired and the guy gave me my first redlight for "spamming" him with a request to look at my pod. Then, his friend did it. That is why I am against the Red Light system put in place recently. It allows petty punishment strategy. I believe in feedback, good or bad, but the red lights are no good. I loved your feedback about pit bulls. I did only show one side, but the contest was about tolerance, so I found it a very fitting issue. Anyway, let's stay in touch. You're a great addition to the Current community!

what a cute spot...
witty and well done.
greenlight from me.

GL for the cuteness of the guy.
I'd reedit to "feel" the slap more. And, make the vm message and her reaction clearer.
Thanks for the GL for "Got Fat? Dangers Lurk..."
