'm Hanala, and I'm a substance abuse counselor. I've worked with movie stars and with homeless people, and here's how I see it.

  • Wait a minute did I miss something? This POD is just like your other one!!!! I understand that speaking into the camera might be a form self-therapy and I would never take that away from you but come on. So I guess I really don't need to repeat my previous comments. Make a pod that does not involve you pushing your book. Stop with the talking head…ZZZZZZ. Make me care about what you have to say because I am not going to jump over to Amazon.com and buy your book. I don’t say this just to be mean but if you have not convinced me with your pod why would I want to buy your book?

  • Sorry felx1m if you think what I wrote to be "ignorant, hostile, small-minded men who don't "get it." Then I would suggest that you buy a dictionary and look up the definition of those words. What I said was from a critique standpoint as well as CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISUSM. What parts of “don’t take this to be mean did you not understand"? If your going to call someone out then you need to step up to the plate and give a logical reason to what your disagreements are before you go on rambling.

    And your comment about keeping your talking head is RIDICULOUS. Your statement alone leads me to believe that you have no former education in to how a video is made.

    Sorry there are some standards out there that does need to be followed and yes rules are made to be broken, but with this pieces again, NO Offence to you Hanala, and if I did that was truly not my intention.

    This was a cheesy pitch to a book. So if that was the point of this pod then why not come out and say it up front. Why go over seven minutes rambling on about this and that and then go “by the way you can by my book”. This is just my opinion and I stated that below.

  • SO interesting, especially your experience with Marlon Brando! I like the straight commentary without being distracted by effects. Especially because you're beautiful. What you're saying is intelligent and you're very engaging. This is educational. You explain the bad celebrity thing in a relate-able way.

  • First of all, big ups to you, Hanala, for everything you've done to survive and uplift yourself and others!

    Second of all, GL. I was LMAO, and could totally understand and relate to all that you said.

    Third, I do agree that there could be more to illustrate your story and enhance the production value to keep it from being just a talking head. But I could see this a series, a form of pop self-help that's cheeky but relevant. That would be very timely.

    But overall, it left me wanting to learn and hear more about your take on the world, and that says more than many other pods I've seen. If it helps you sell your book, then I congratulate you. Everyone is here trying to promote their ideas, a cause, their work as a producer, etc. As long as it's good, as I consider your pod, then who has a right to criticize.
