After a fight with his girlfriend a man finds just the right tune to unlock her heart. Starring my friends DJ Sonny Black & Linda.D. Thx to Biome2 for helping me make it.

I shot this in my favorite city & hometown, Pasadena. I also made the first 3 songs & sing/rap on them. The last song is Connections by The Supa Lowery Brothers: myspace.com/supalowerybros

  • Thx Blando- I used a really cheap (30$) suction mount called the stickypod I got a while back to do some of the shots. I think its still around, might be a bit more... but def worth it!

    Jenn- Thx mucho! I always edit to the music & let the emotion of it tell me when to cut... a bit backwards some say, but that's me. The relationship between the video & the music is 90% of what makes a video good imho.

    This piece is super effective. I love the beige, and the time lapse at the end is very sweet. I think the setup that they are already boyfriend/girlfriend is a little unclear, but the sincerity of the players makes it work anyway. I hesitated to vote only because I give out big 25 point helpings, but this dish was so tasty I had to do it...GL

    Take a look at my folk art Ad for XM, (heads up), and give out some pointers. Right now, I think you and Refractor lead the way...

    My only comment is to use the alternate title Bonita Applebum.
    Anyone who has Wong Kar Wai and Inarritu as favorite directors is a lover of cinema.

  • This ad is beautifully shot, well edited, with a great mood. My ONLY remotely negative comment would be that until we see her head resting on his shoulder at the end, it looks like he was cruising her (do straight people do that? Sure they do...) and she finally gave in...which is kinda seedy. But maybe this was your intention? Nevertheless, distinct and evocative production work.
