In the remote waters of Nootka Sound, a lone baby orca, orphaned from his pod and desperate for social contact, arrives in the quiet logging town of Gold River, and becomes the catalyst for a conflict of cultural right, and scientific responsibility. KAKA?WIN is a short documentary that tells the story of how this unique animal changed our perceptions about our relationship to nature, and each other.

Hi!
Needs to be cut down to less than 10 minutes. Also, do you have any footage of people swimming and playing with luna? That would be neat!
Thanks for uploading! -
NIce Story People love animals. Make it shorter i don't have 16 minutes to stare at my computer.

Gorgeous. Touching. Beautifully shot. If only you could cut it down I'm sure this would make it to air!

I trust the Native American tribe. I say we put them in charge of the situation. Was there a map at any time telling us where this place is?

Those landscape shots are absolutely fantastic! I think the piece is a good length for its subject. I just don't know if Current will ask you to cut it down for air. I will GL because I believe it is ready for air, it is worthy of air, it deserves to be aired. It's a great work. I was also surprised at the lack of music, but I'm so glad because it would have added a cheesy factor to a video that already stands on its own without nondiegetic music. Please take the opportinuty to check out my Pods as well. Best of luck to you in your future works.

Simply gorgeous. It was amazing that you were able to use so many voices while impartially explaining such a complex issue.
Hope to see this on TV. -
A remarkable film. I do agree with a previous comment that there should be some sort of map pointing out where this place is.
The landscape shots were incredible, and the sound bites were near-perfect.
I also think that this pod presented a balanced viewpoint and communicated important messages. Great job. -
Bravo!

Glad this is being produced for tv! Excellent, important and complex story presented in high quality production. The techniques and editing totally support the story--nothing distracts. Good to see First Nations viewpoint and also you've made it clear this isn't a "black and white" issue. You captured well the many complexities and ripples of consequence for any potential choice of action (or inaction).

I loved this story, but it was so sad at the end. Hopefully the people learned a lesson, that the animals' safety and well being should have come first and foremost.

That is so sad, he thought maybe humans were his family ...I am sure he was lonely .They are social beings and so in the end he lost his real family and died at the hands of his adoptive family tragic, so very tragic.
