(UPLOADED JUNE 20th: WORLD REFUGEE DAY)
I recently travelled to Kurdistan, the northern territories of Iraq. They call it "The Other Iraq" because it's way safer than the rest of the country. It's become a haven of sorts of Iraqi refugees from the center and south. According to the UNHCR, 2.3 million Iraqis are internally displaced. That's a record high for refugees globally. Here's a report from a refugee camp I visited on the outskirts of Mosul and Erbil.

  • GL. I can hardly believe you managed to edit what incredible footage you must have recorded while visiting there. Great job on this. We won’t see that story in mainstream media.
    We have no idea.
    We just keep shopping.
This is a must for TV !

Please take a look at our pod if you get a moment> link

  • Excellent pod! Big GL! Definately something we don't see in Big Media very often.

Once again we see the consequences of this ill-planned venture. I don't blame so much the so-called "Iraq War" which supposedly was ended years ago. but rather the fiasco of the mismanagement that followed in the wake of the war.

Granted, hindsight is 20/20 but as pods like this show and as the situation drags on, it shows that Bush and his Admin from the getgo never really imagined the consequences because they were apparently not terribly familiar with Iraq's history and diversity.

And they continue to show this ignorance and they progress blindly onward on this ambigious goal of "Staying the Course."
  • very well done. Great information and something we don't see everyday. GL.

  • Hey that's a great pod. It looks like you had a productive trip over there. My friend Sureya has family members in that situation although she keeps their names and locations a secret because of the persecution and danger that they face every day. I wonder if you met with her family members.

  • This is a very timely and well produced pod. I missed the chance to GL it, since it was picked so quickly. Thanks for sharing it here. I definitely learned something from it. I commend you for trying to get the word out about this organization.

Your documentary/journalistic material has a very professional look and feel. No wonder you have already taken other videos to air. Congrats on all your acocmplishments here at Current, and good luck with your current and future projects.

I would love to get your critique on my work. When you have a moment, please take a look at my pod , and let me know what you think about this reversed perspective on the world. Thanks for your time!
  • Congratulations on getting accepted for TV. Excellent information and concise. Good to know the Kurds are welcoming the people from the south. Well done video.

If you have 5 minutes, please check out Drawn For Life for a Green Light consideration. It's not as important a video as yours but we worked hard on it.

Looking forward to seeing more from you Narcysister. Keep bringing us the real story.
    Peace, Morgan

  • Hello,
Thank you for bringing the hidden Truth out especially from the voiceless who are Not helped by anyone either because they are not part of any political party or don't have friends in high power.
On Kurdish TV they advertise constantly the Italian and European companies bringing Cell phones, Cappuccino, Espresso makers, Dishwashers while people are dying from heat, lack of food, dysentery and Cholera. Until this kind of crisis is not resolved, the Kurdish government should allow only companies and organizations which are there to build homes, health, Self Suffeciency thru Agriculture, crafts, and training of the people instead of selling the Kurds Cars, Cappuccino, and washing machines which for right now ridiculous, Shame on the Media and the propaganda of "Safe Haven and Safe Life in Kurdistan!!!" This Refugee Crisis in Kurdistan it's counter part is in New Orleans where the politicians portraying Katrina Crisis two years later as if everything is just fine, and politicians use the victims for their elections and propaganda, exactly like Kurdistan where everyone and everything is just fine!!!???
Increase in the number of honor killings, suicide of Kurdish girls and women are pushed aside due to chaos in Iraq and Kurdistan, plus not much is done to prevent or to stop it.
